During the US-Japan matchup last night, the guy was putting the animated stones on the screen to illustrate where the Americans were trying to place it and said something along the lines of "this is the ideal place to be", except that they had switched cameras and the yellow dot ended up right on a chick's crotch.

i was disappointed upon finding out that cassie johnson (now potter) wouldn't return as skip. she was responsible for my initial interest in curling four years ago.

Ditto. I would have jumped either of Cassie or her sister.

The US women's second in Curling is way hot. Nicole Joranstaad is her name. Too bad her team has been really bad.

shuster was replaced for yesterday's match against france. the team finally won for the first time. so what does the coach do? he puts shuster back in the lineup.

He's not the skip though, so he won't be taking any of the last shots.

I don't think it's a bad move. He was in the lineup for the first four matches - so he has to be one of the best options the team has. I bet he just needed a break to clear his head.

I've been ripping on him, but in the end, these are all amateurs in the truest sense. When the Olympics are over, all these guys on the US team are going to go back to their day jobs. He's had a rough week, but he's handled it well. I've heard him mic'ed up and in interviews and he hasn't tired to deflect any blame and has admitted fault - perhaps to the point where he has put too much pressure on himself. I think it's worth it to give him another shot at it.

sure, he won't have the last throw, which is probably the most important aspect of his return. for his and the team's sake, they better win. the backlash will be severe if they lose upon his return.
