2010 TSUN offseason arguments & shenanigans

Holy Shyte! That had me crying laughing. Just when I'd start to get myself together, there'd be another cannon shot and faux lightning bolts like Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch.

Fcuking A, Mi[censored]gan, have some pride. Do you really suck that badly?

Fcuk'em. Enough. Send them to the Big East in a straight up trade for Syracuse and cash.

Did Mardy lose the Grillz sometime late last season? I don't recall seeing it recently.
I recall seeing them early in the season, not so much as the year wore on.

In the comments section, an articulate explanation of why I detest them so (bold is mine):

"Schembechler introduced Shand to a concept that has stuck with him to this day and a concept shared by many Michigan alumni ? the concept of a Michigan man. Even though being a Michigan man has as loose a definition as just about anything, it always embraces the devotion and pride that Michigan students and graduates have for their school.
It?s what has made Dave Shand?s relationship to Michigan so unique to any other college athlete.
?I still carry being a Michigan man with me today, and I will for the rest of my life,? Shand said. ?It makes me feel smart, distinguished, dignified and highly regarded by others. People hear the name ?Michigan,? and they gasp or stand there in awe. The special luster that comes with being a Wolverine on and off the field is what has kept me in Ann Arbor.?

Remember this the next time you have a moment of weakness and wish them any type of positive outcome or goodwill.

"So unique"? Yes, I am in awe of your Michigan education, fuckface. :roll1:

Demar Dorsey And Drew Sharp | mgoblog
A selection of things Sharp said yesterday while pushing his contention that Michigan shouldn't have signed Dorsey:

MATT SHEPARD: "He was timed with a 4.4—"
SHARP: "Avoiding police."

SHEPARD: "That happened when he was 16 and he was acquitted.
SHARP: "I wonder if that was because he was a high profile recruit. Hmm. I wonder. … OJ got acquitted. Being acquitted doesn't mean you're innocent."

"If this was any other 16 year old facing charges on buglary [ed: of an unoccupied building; dropped], armed robbery, and assault [ed: fictional charge], that kid might be serving probation. He probably thought 'I have to go to trial so I can get this off my record.'"

….

"I'm done with second chances. I have a hard time believing this kid Dorsey's learned one damn thing through his close calls with the criminal justice system."

SHEPARD: "It's been a couple years… has he gotten into any trouble since?"
SHARP: "Not that we know of! … It's naive for for people to automatically assume that you have to give these guys another chance."

SHEPARD: "Why take a chance?"
SHARP: "It's desperation."

What I don't get is why UM allows Drew Sharp to continue covering the football team. He's Tom Friend on cocaine with a long-standing crusade against Michigan. Whether that's to rescue his dying employer's bottom line, to attack the school he despises, both or neither... he's been about as bad as all of the shock jock analysts rolled into one.

Of course, the Sharp thing is also being turned into a conspiracy against Rich Rod the Martyr according to GBW. Of course, in explaining this vendetta, Beaver has now admitted that UM has always taken kids like this and even admitted non-qualifiers. So much for that righteous indignation that Beaver uses constantly when referencing all of the wicked & sinister approaches that holy UM cannot take in recruiting against OSU, PSU, USC, etc.

Sharp may have taken it to a new level under RR - though that also correlates with newspapers going under much faster than during the Carr years, but he's always been a gigantic tool.

The vitriolic soapbox by Sharp in the studio:
Podcast

Press conference questions:
Rodriguez addresses Dorsey Questions (Press conference audio)

As a reporter, RR deserves to get taken to task for how this appears, but this is remarkably unprofessional and immature by Drew Sharp, which is par for the course. I skimmed the second link, it appears most of the outlandish stuff is in the studio.

Congratulations Drew Sharp, you've made Jim Rome & Papadapapakaouaiuksuiskuis sound reasonable.
