2010 TSUN offseason arguments & shenanigans

I don't buy 4-0 at all. Edsall and Kelly are both better coaches. Maybe they steal one of the UCONN, ND games but you can't tell me that Rich Rod won't find a way to lose the other.

Didn't say he would be 4 and 0. I said there's a good chance he could be 4 and 0. I don't think he's got a lock on seven wins or his job, but he's got a chance to get off to a good start and IF he can find some folks to play defense he should have enough offense to be a problem for most of the Big 10. He gets two of what should be his toughest games, Iowa and MSU at home and God knows what Penn State is going to look like this year.

Realize you said could, but what I was arguing was the good chance part. I'm with Jax, I would definitely bet the other way if the bet was Michigan going 4-0.

Stoke the coals for Braylon.

It's a 'make or break year' for Rich Rodriguez

Former Michigan standout receiver Braylon Edwards said 2010 is a "make or break year" for coach Rich Rodriguez.

"He's past the hot seat, and he has to make it work," said Edwards, who threw out the first pitch for Thursday's Tigers-Nationals game at Comerica Park. "If he can't -- me being one of the alumni guys -- I want someone that can make it work. We've been patient. If it doesn't go right this year, we'll have to find a guy that can make it work with that winged helmet."

Edwards, now with the New York Jets, is in the area this weekend for his charity basketball game, which is Saturday night at Crisler Arena.

Rodriguez has an 8-16 record in two seasons at Michigan.

"Everybody says he didn't have his players when he first got here, that it's going to take him a while to recruit," said Edwards. "(But) this is Michigan. We have some of the best athletes in the country, year in and year out."

Edwards, who wore the coveted No. 1 jersey at Michigan, played for the Wolverines from 2001-04. He caught 252 passes for 3,541 yards and 39 touchdowns.

This just in: Edwards declares Rodriguez has really dropped the ball at M*ch*g*n.

Tough call on this post here...

The obvious implication that Edwards was commenting on a subject about which he is a world-leading-authority might make this better suited for the football thread than the shenanigans thread.

I'll leave it alone, but let's not skirt the boundaries so closely in the future m'kay?

Can't wait to go all in on that UCONN game. That is as big a lock as there is going to be all year in CFB.

UCONN wins that game fairly easily, imo.
Both defenses have a severe allergy to the strength of the opposing offense.
