2010 TSUN offseason arguments & shenanigans

just imagine what a great job recruiting dick rod would be doing if tsun was shit before he got there!

it must be pretty hard selling kids on returning tsun to glory when you are the fucktard that took them into the tank in the first place :slappy:

silver lining though is that the next game (may it be years and years away) can use that line pretty convincingly

Maybe my recollection is faulty, but wasn't RR a significantly better recruiter at WVU? At the very least, he somehow beat out OSU and USC for Jason Gwaltney, who while a complete bust, was a highly-rated recruit once upon a time. Didn't he also land Noel Devine? Off the top of my head, I can't remember when Josh Jenkins committed, so I'm not sure if RR closed the deal or if Stewart did.

I was going to joke that he recruits like he's still at WVU, but he doesn't. WVU actually pulled in decent talent at times, especially at RB. I think that class with Gwaltney and Slaton had something like six or seven backs in it. It was ridiculous. The guy never was much of one for recruiting the other side of the ball, though, so some things never change.

Noel's not, let's say, the brightest bulb.

Stewart.

A LOT of the superior athletes that RR brought into WVU were able to go there, because of deficient academics or run-ins with the law etc.

according to rivals, he recruited 5 running backs in that class, not including Slaton who was listed as a 3 star athlete...

three of the backs were 2 stars, Scooter Berry, Jetavious Best and Ed Collington

Berry was turned into a DT (?!) and was arrested, I can't even tell if Jetavious Best got into West Virginia due to academic issues, Ed Collington wracked up a total of 110 yards on the ground in two seasons before being dismissed from the team for felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell

there was one 3 star back, Ovid Goulburn who is now a linebacker

there was 5 star Jason Gwaltney, and everyone knows his story

and of course there is three star athlete Steve Slaton in that class

so, if anything, the RB class at WVU that year demonstrates dick rod's lack of ability to recognize and pull in talent, even at running back
