I agree with pretty much all of this.jwinslow;1653266; said:I thought they'd win 7 games last year (either 6-6 + bowl win or 7-5 w/ bowl loss), so who knows. They'll improve on offense, but the defense could possibly take another step back.
On paper, they should be at least a 6-7 win team. If there weren't some potential locker room issues, I'd peg them for 8-4 or 7-5. But those ticking time bombs are there:
- If Devin plays (despite undoubtedly struggling at times in practices and games), does that get under Tate's skin, knowing he's not the runner Devin is?
- If things start going badly, can they rally? Or will there be self-doubt, bitterness or other emotions pent up over past struggles?
- If Rich loses another inexcusable game (ie Sparty or ILL yet again), and the 'RR will be fired' drumbeats start thumping (even without basis), how will that affect the locker room? Recruiting?
- Can the defense get better after losing a superstar DE & their best corner? Who do they lean on? Woolfolk? Martin? Can they fix what no one could last year? Are the RR recruits enough to change the play on defense? Are they talented enough? If they are, are they mature/developed enough in time to save RR's defense?
On paper I think they should win 8 games, 7 + bowl win or 8 + bowl loss.
In reality I can't put any faith in their resolve when the going gets tough... what happens when they hit MSU, Iowa, PSU (which really shouldn't be that tough for their talent level)? Do they dig deep and overcome those obstacles? Or do the wheels come off when the ball doesn't bounce their way in the first half of one or two games?
Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez is a master of closing the deal
BY MARK SNYDER

It might be the most impressive thing Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez has done in his two-year tenure.
When signing days approach -- this year it's Wednesday -- he's able to take his class from good to impressive nearly every time.
Often that comes at the expense of other schools, some who have oral commitments from prospects Michigan is trying to land.

I have read quotes from non Michigan fans for two years now and one thing remains. FEAR. I don't like ND hate them in fact but was sorry to see them let old fat boy go cause he was the worst football coach in the midwest which says alot considering the guy at Illinois. If you are not a fan of RR and he is as bad as you think cheer for him UNLESS. You realize as many blue fans and alums do that RR is bringing something to the big ten that will revolutionize the land scape. SPEED kills in college football don't believe me ask the SEC. GO BLUE in ROD WE TRUST!

Knight headed to Rutgers
By Kristian R. Dyer, Special to SI.com
One of the top remaining uncommitted prospects from Florida, Rashad Knight, will sign a letter of intent for Rutgers, SI.com has learned. A 5'10 and 181 pound safety for Trinity Christian in Jacksonville, Knight is rated as a four star player by Rivals.com. Knight will choose Rutgers over Michigan, where he took official visits. He also made an official visit to Auburn in December.
"I sat down with my family and talked about it -- I called the coach at Michigan to let him know," Knight said. "I just felt too comfortable at Rutgers to not go there."
Knight plays safety at the high school level but says that Rutgers envisions him as a cornerback when he goes north to New Jersey. Among his many offers were Auburn, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Purdue and West Virginia. He said that the recent trend of Rutgers producing NFL players helped sell him on the program. It didn't start very well, however, for the Scarlet Knights in trying to land Knight.
"A lot of coaches from a bunch of schools called here and there, but he [Rutgers' secondary coach Ed Pinkham] kept calling me so much, it started to get annoying," Knight said. "Then, after awhile, I began to feel real comfortable with him and what he was saying and our talks."
Perhaps it got to be a little too comfortable.
"I really like what they're doing there and how they do things," Knight said about Rutgers. "I like coach Pinkham and coach Schiano a lot. In fact, coach Schiano reminds me a lot of my mom."
According to Rivals.com, Knight is the No. 19 player at his position nationally and the No. 46 player in the state of Florida. He is the highest ever recruit from Florida to commit to Rutgers.

Their offense had better score 50 points per game of they're in for another long year. I just don't see how they stop people from walking them up and down the field.

10 am ET The recruiting show that Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne four-star safety Sean Parker will announce on begins at 7 am on the West Coast. Parker's announcement could come at any time during that hour, but hopefully it will be early in the hour.
We do not expect to have to wait until Wednesday to find out the verdict from Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne defensive tackle Terry Talbott. When we spoke with Talbott on Sunday he expected to have his final decision made on Tuesday night.
I just got another email from Jay Minton, who is Terry Talbott's coach. Jay said that Terry has a meeting scheduled with his mom at 7PM, and they will have a decision on what he's doing after that meeting.
So, we should know tonight whether or not he will be coming to Michigan.
