Former Michigan cornerback Boubacar Cissoko arrested in Ypsilanti

Former University of Michigan cornerback Boubacar Cissoko was arrested in Ypsilanti on Friday night after he consented to a search and police found marijuana.
Cissoko was taken to the Ypsilanti Police Department, “where he confessed intent to sell the marijuana,” according to the incident log. Cissoko, who has yet to be charged, was released.

Cissoko was dismissed from the Michigan football team in October for violating team rules. He started the first four games of the season, missed two games because of a suspension, then returned in limited action against Penn State before being kicked off the team for good.
Last month, Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez left open a slight possibility that Cissoko could rejoin the team.

That door appeared to close before the latest incident. A Grand Valley State official confirmed Monday that Cissoko planned to transfer there at the beginning of this semester, but never enrolled.

Regardless, Cissoko’s high school coach, Thomas Wilcher, said Cissoko has played his last down of football for Michigan.
“That door’s slammed shut and bolted on both sides,” Wilcher said.
In 2008, Cissoko was cited for an alcohol violation in the early-morning hours after Michigan’s 35-21 loss to Michigan State. When he failed to pay a $250 fine, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Following the Jibreel Black commitment:

Hello: Jibreel Black | mgoblog

UPSHOT FOR THE REST OF THE CLASS
The final numbers are all very muddled. Black's spot could be the last one in the class, or there could be as many as two spots left depending on the academic status of a couple kids and if a couple players are willing to grayshirt.

Any remaining spots are probably being reserved for safeties (Sean Parker, Demar Dorsey, Rashad Knight) unless a surprise blue-chip falls into Michigan's lap.

[sarcasm]Boy, UC fans must be pissed. I'm glad we don't have to worry about going up against that recruiting powerhouse![/sarcasm]

from the mGoBlog bit ...

Michigan is #3 behind Indiana and Cincinnati
Now, that was about the order in which Black committed - now, if that applies to Basketball it is one matter, it is a chilling order of descendancy for TSUN football.

Did they want him anyway?
Drake appears to be one of about 5-6 players who they offered, accepted a commitment, and then got him to go elsewhere when they had better players come down the pike. I know grades are being used as an excuse here, but offering a backup RB teammate of a blue-chip LB (Corey Nelson) always seemed a bit fishy.

Father Winslow,

How, in your unbiased opinion, will scUM fare in Big10 play next season? Will they re-establish their dominance over the lower tier of the conference but still lag behind tOSU and State Penn?

Will they stay at the bottom? Or will they return to the top? (:slappy: :slappy: :slappy:)

I thought they'd win 7 games last year (either 6-6 + bowl win or 7-5 w/ bowl loss), so who knows. They'll improve on offense, but the defense could possibly take another step back.

On paper, they should be at least a 6-7 win team. If there weren't some potential locker room issues, I'd peg them for 8-4 or 7-5. But those ticking time bombs are there:

- If Devin plays (despite undoubtedly struggling at times in practices and games), does that get under Tate's skin, knowing he's not the runner Devin is?

- If things start going badly, can they rally? Or will there be self-doubt, bitterness or other emotions pent up over past struggles?

- If Rich loses another inexcusable game (ie Sparty or ILL yet again), and the 'RR will be fired' drumbeats start thumping (even without basis), how will that affect the locker room? Recruiting?

- Can the defense get better after losing a superstar DE & their best corner? Who do they lean on? Woolfolk? Martin? Can they fix what no one could last year? Are the RR recruits enough to change the play on defense? Are they talented enough? If they are, are they mature/developed enough in time to save RR's defense?

On paper I think they should win 8 games, 7 + bowl win or 8 + bowl loss.

In reality I can't put any faith in their resolve when the going gets tough... what happens when they hit MSU, Iowa, PSU (which really shouldn't be that tough for their talent level)? Do they dig deep and overcome those obstacles? Or do the wheels come off when the ball doesn't bounce their way in the first half of one or two games?
