2010 TSUN News (in-season)

I hear different, Brandon and Harbaugh are very good friends but it does not mean he will take the job or be offered.

I have heard Mike Trgovac being thrown around as a possible candidate. He has been a d-line coach for most of his career and was a defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers for about 6 years. I like the defensive background, but he doesn't have any head coaching experience which could be a problem.

Trgovac is a '77 Fitch grad. It be great to see him get a high-profile HC gig, just not at Michigan...

Not only are scUM fans turning on Beaver (which, duh, finally) but there is also some intrigue going on at MGoBlog. Brian put up a pretty emotional post against Greg Robinson, questioning his qualifications, his hire, and his general competence as a DC. The posters are starting to comment on how this is another excuse for RRod, and that the HC is a HEAD coach for a reason. Blame for repeated utter failure ultimately falls on him.

Just thought that was interesting, because they usually stick to what Brian says pretty well. For the record Brian thinks that he (RR) should be given another year with yet another defensive coordinator. Should be an interesting November up north.

As far as RR apologists go, there aren't many bigger.

Harbaugh won't leave a team he's built up from sub .500 to one game being one game shy of undefeated for another team that's just as awful. It's not like he's coaching in the weak ass Big East where he'd have a hard time getting into the title game.

Why would Harbaugh leave a team he's built up from sub .500 to one game being one game shy of undefeated for another team that's just as awful?
Because he is a diehard Wolverine. It is true that the NFL may derail that dream job, however.
Alma Matter wasn't enough to pull Les Miles in, and the program was in far better condition then.
Again, les miles was only offered the job in the hearts of the boosters, alumni & fans... never the guy in charge. He wasn't frantically calling Bill Martin the night before the SECCG because he was passing.

This, Brandon was one of the leaders in the anti miles camp as well. The guy we really wanted was Ferentz. Brandon on the other hand has known Harbaugh since Harbaugh was a little kid. Harbagh just isnt a guy that played at Michigan, in the 80's he was to Michigan what Tim Tebow was to Florida.

There is a part of me that wants MSU to share the B10 title with OSU. It will only hurt Michigan recruiting instate kids versus MSU. MSU can actually claim they are almost there whereas Michigan will be a trainwreck. Their defensive and special teams woes will take 3 full recruiting classes to rectify...too bad the B10 gets alot tougher next year.
