But I thought THIS was the year for that? At least that's what they were saying last year at this time.

They have reason to be excited...they couldn't really ask for a better performance offensively. But, there is 49.9% chance shoelaces holds up running around that much. UConn's DL was decimated by injury and was just overmatched all game. UConn was so concerned with him running and was incapable of generating any pressure whatsoever so Denard could just sit back and throw it to the same spot over and over again. I saw one or two pretty good throws, but mostly it was just pitch and catch. We'll see how he reacts when he actually has to stand up to pressure and make some reads. If he gets hurt and tater is, in fact, bailing...they're in trouble. Devin isn't ready...

Defensively, there's till a lot to be answered. They were bailed out by a couple huge UConn gaffes, not to mention the fact that Frazier looked absolutely horrible. Even when he was on target, they were dropping balls left and right. There ere still a lot of wide open holes and some sloppy tackling. The middle of the field was open almost all game long...they just didn't take advantage.

I figured they'd win, but the margin was distorted a bit by critical errors on UConn's part.

You can't overestimate the merriment...of course, the helments need wangs....
