We will have to agree to disagree. While he might have been 3rd in reception yardage, Saine is not a WR because he doesn't run WR routes and isn't used as a WR and Stoneburner is also not a WR, he is a tight end. These guys are all good, but they aren't WRs.

You never saw Saine split way out wide and running downfield routes?

1st post here, so bare with me....

Personally I don't think Saine could consistently be considered a replacement for Carter. Sure he has nice hands for a running back and can run decent routes, but he's never had to do much against a nickel back or a coverage safety.

Sure he could be line up wide a few times a game, but the best way to replace Carter I think would be to have a very balanced offensive attack.

Also, I was led on to believe that Jake Stoneburner would now become a full time wide receiver to replace Duron. Is their any truth to that?

I doubt it. They have spent 2 years bulking him up and training him at the new position. It would be tough to throw all that time down the tubes. Jake will probably see the ball more than Ballard or Nichol, but at the TE spot.

Agreed. They like Stoneburner at TE, which is why he is there. Duron Carter was the #3 last year and only had 12 catches on the year. Everything I saw and heard about Carter from practice impressed me, but didn't make a huge impact in the games. His blocking sure will be missed. Posey, Sanz, and a pass catching TE is what I expect to see most and should be most effective. If Pryor has improved his decision making, maybe a 3rd and 4th receiver could benefit.

You hope TWash (Sr), Fields (rFR), or Schwartz (SR) could fill those roles with ease.

As was already pointed out, Carter didn't contribute much on the field. He won't be missed. And with the over all talent level it will not be easy even if he comes back. His "window" may be gone.
