Well, I suppose that you could look at it that way ... but giving up 24 points for an entire season is still a Hell of a lot.MUBuck;1769089; said:We blocked a FG against Miami, does that mean 24 points?

MUBuck;1769108; said:No arguments here. Just want to point out that as bad as our kick/punt coverage has been, our return game has been much improved from past years. No consolation for our horrendous overall play in ST, but at least we've improved somewhere. Have a good feeling that Berry and Hall break a few TD's this season.
BuckeyeMac;1769211; said:Most definitely. If you tackle the guy even after a long return, there's still a chance of the team not getting any points. You take away those two ST TD's by Miami yesterday, we hold them to 10 points at best, or 16. That looks much better than 24.

There has been discussion about the officiating but one non-call in particular leaves me shaking my head, literally. I still don't see how an entire officiating crew can miss a block in the back happen directly in front of the returner...I guess not one of them saw this block take out two players right in front of the play!
I am the first to admit the ST needs work but the implication of non-calls like this and non-calls for horse collar tackling can get players injured which just makes me think these officials in saturdays game had no regard whatsoever for player safety. Is there an officiating review done of CFB games like the NFL?
ACC refs = FAIL.

VIDEO: Help is on the way for OSU kick coverage

COLUMBUS ? The quest to improve the kick and punt coverage continued on Tuesday at Ohio State.
The solution isn?t expected to come from redshirting linebacker Etienne Sabino. But it could come from a pair of reserve running backs.
Both Jordan Hall and Jamaal Berry were mentioned as possibilities to help bolster the Buckeyes? punt- and kick-coverage units, perhaps as early as Saturday when the second-ranked Buckeyes (2-0) host Ohio. Through two games, Ohio State has been giving up 27 yards per return on its 11 kickoffs and 40 1/2 yards per return.
?Those two have done a good job,? Tressel said of Hall and Berry. ?And just like anything else, when you want more, well, the answer to getting more is do well with the few you get.?
Which hasn?t been a problem for either sophomore Hall or redshirt freshman Berry.
Specializing primarily on the return portion of the special teams, Hall has averaged 32 1/2 yards on two kickoff returns, while Berry has averaged 30.8 yards on his four returns. Hall is also the Buckeyes? top punt returner, averaging seven yards on his five attempts.
The pair of reserve running backs, stuck in a logjam of running back depth behind starters Brandon Saine and Dan Herron, could very well get more playing time on the other side of the special teams. It helps their cause that they would both provide lightning bolts of speed going down the field.
?I remember Brandon Saine became a member of that kickoff coverage team at one stage,? Tressel said. ?Guys like Jordan and Jamaal are in the two-deep. They haven?t done it in games yet, but they know the scheme. This week we?ll find out who ought to be the 11 guys that get to run down or who are the guys that need to stay in front of the punt returner even when they think he might fair catch.?
You are probably right, I saw it more as a two handed push, but I can see where you're coming from and it seems to me, a hold would make more sense there than a push in the back.NateG;1770939; said:The one on Sweat would be more of a hold... Miami player grabbed his jersey then let go when the returner came up.
