I quit FF XIII. It was just far too linear, and the characters annoyed the hell out of me. Snow and that red-headed girl made me wonder if I could have them commit suicide. And the dialogue...man...it's horrible. "Let's do it!" *grunt* *oof* *ungh* "Let's go!" *grunt* *sigh*

However, from what others have told me, the story does indeed open up, and they swear it's amazing. I don't know. I put seven hours into it and it seemed all I did was run forward and push X, rinse, repeat.

I may give it another go later on.

I'm only about 2 hours into FFXIII. I've been pretty confused/bombarded thus far. They definitly thrust you in there with lots of action, plot, and characters from the get go. I usually don't care for a fast start like that, but I guess FFVII is the same way and that turned out to be a pretty good game.

As far as the linear side of it, that can be expected, almost all RPGs are linear in the beginning of the story, and halfway through it branches out and lets you do your own thing. I'm guessing this game will be no different. I'll probably play this more this weekend.

Just wait until you unlock the next part of the battling system, the game truly shows some of its strength there. I'm enjoying the story so far.

Totally...i'd love to get a serious 2v2 or 3v3 team together for some Ladder ranking. Back in SC:BW i did 1v1 ladder and got to #123 in the World. That was before they had the different regions like US East, US West, Europe, etc. I would love to get back into some compitition stuff again.
