Who will be the captains for the 2010 Ohio State Buckeyes?

I feel you. And you will probably be right. But Pryor has been the QB of this team for 2 years now already and will be for the next 2 years as well. It's time for him to captain this team and not only be a leader, but to be the heart and soul of this team. To lead this team every day not just Saturday's and set the example day in and day out. It will not only help him, but the whole team. He deserves it if he is working his ass off in the offseason.

I apologize if there's already a thread on this. I looked and didn't find one, but it might be buried.

Anyway, kind of a tough call for captains in '10, but at least there will be a lot of good options unlike last year. I would think Pryor and Sanzenbacher on offense but I had an ex-player tell me no way would Tressel allow Pryor to be a captain until his senior year. So, we'll have to see how that goes. But Sanzenbacher seems like a safe bet to me. Coaches and teammates love him and he'll be a senior. I also think Saine will get serious consideration. Other possibilities on offense will be Justin Boren and Bryant Browning, but I don't think either of them would get it. Based on my intel from the former player, I'd go with Sanzenbacher and Saine.

Then on defense, there are candidates galore with Heyward, Chekwa, Homan, Rolle and Larimore. That's five legit candidates on one side of the ball. Really tough call there, but I would probably go with Cam and Ross.

So, my final guess is Sanzenbacher, Saine, Heyward and Homan. But I wouldn't exactly feel comfortable betting the farm on that prediction.

FYI, the easiest way to search is to click on 'Search' on the top toolbar, then type Captains into the drop-down box, but click the box for 'search titles only' in order to only return threads with the search-word in the title.

Bump for discussion.

Browning, Sanzo, and Heyward have been selected to attend the Big Ten media days in Chicago in 2 weeks.

As I posted on January 5th, I think the captains will be those 3 and Ross Homan.

Listening to the fan yesterday, they said browning had no chance at being a captain and this was simply JT's way of saying "thanks" to him.
That is the most bullshit I have ever heard. BB is every bit of a leader to our offensive line as Boren is, and probably more. He is a coaches dream student, model citizen, and a great teammate. The coaches have a lot of say in who becomes a captain but BB's teammates respect him like he deserves. I'm sick of people saying Boren should be a captain over BB. I'd bet on BB, Sanzo, Cam and Homan. Logical choices to me.
