The #1 Buckeyes will face Illinois tomorrow at 6 p.m. ET on the BTN.

#9 Illinois just defeated #8 Indiana 59-53. Senior Jenna Smith for Illinois set a tournament record with 19 rebounds. She also scored 23 points.

#7 TSUN beat #10 NW'ern, and will face #2 Sparty tomorrow at 11:30 am ET.

#6 PSU downed #11 Minny and will face #3 Iowa (approx 2 pm ET).

The other game tomorrow is the #4 Wiscy-#5 Purdue game (approx 8:30 p.m. ET); the winner of which will face the tOSU-Illini winner.

I'll admit I like to watch the Illini - Jenna Smith is both good and a very, very pretty girl. And a southpaw to boot.

Illini are a pretty tough 9-seed. When you have a talent like Smith, you're a dangerous out.

Outstanding game berween tOSU and Wiscy in the semis. Wiscy played lights out in the first half and were up 41-37 over tOSU at the break.

Jantel sat the last 7:15 of the half with 2 fouls. Wiscy was very aggresive defending her, fronting and doubling her. But tOSU's offense wasn't bad, it's just that Wiscy shot 55% in the first half; and several of those shots were off the dribble over a defender.

In the second half they pounded it inside to Lavender, and Prahalis also came up big. Sammy and Jantel ended up with 29 and 27 respectively, as they won 82-73. Wiscy led most of the game, and the final score was deceiving as it was a 1-point game with a couple minutes left. It was one of the more entertaining women;s game I've seem in a while.

The Buckeyes were 34 of 38 (89.5%) from the FT line.

The opponent in the finals will be Iowa, who knocked off Sparty 59-54. DeHaan didn't play much for Sparty due to back problems.

Iowa has a very good 3-point shooter in the frosh Printy, a great rebounding guard in Kachine Alexander, and a good scorer in Wahlin.

The good news is that Iowa probably clinched an NCAA bid with their win over Sparty, so they don't need a win to keep playing. Despite being 10-8 in the conference, they've won 12 of their last 13 games.

The Iowa game will be on ESPN2 at 4:30 ET on Sunday.

While the play was impressive I'm not sure I could call the game outstanding due to the incessant interruptions by the officials and they inconsistency of their calls. One minute they would let both teams get away with murder the next they were calling touch fouls. It was awful to watch till like the last 2 mins where they finally decided to let them play without what seemed like a whistle every possession. Wiscy was hot from beyond the arc seemingly the entire game until the last 5 mins which allowed OSU to finally get some breathing room.

Buckeye ladies charged back from a 16 point deficit in the 2nd half to post a 66-64 victory over Iowa in the B10 tourney final.
Congratulations to Jantel Lavender for a 35 point, 10 rebound effort including the clinching free throws with 1.9 seconds left.

Win or lose, that was some horrible officiating today. Glad the ladies were able to get it together in the second half and clamp down on the Hawkeyes!

Oh, and Gabby Machado, you're a dive artist. Glad your cheap play didn't pay off today.

Way to go, Lady Bucks! What an exciting comeback. There were a lot of shots of ET and Dallas Lauderdale rooting them on. :oh:

:io:

What a great comeback by the Lady Bucks today! Tremendous work down the stretch on defense and by Lavender on the offensive end. Way to go Buckeyes!!!

I was amused by Turner's little dance after the game was over but yeah officiating in woman's games is awful from what I've seen. This is the first game I've seen a reach called this post season and even then it was barely or incorrectly called. They get away with more reaching and slapping then I've ever seen yet then they go and cal fouls where no one was touched while at other times it seems there is no foul unless there is blood.

Anyone else notice Sammy was hobbling and grimacing a little at the end of the game? It looked to me like she was well until the final foul then she started bouncing around and jumping up and hugging everyone.
