Outstanding game berween tOSU and Wiscy in the semis. Wiscy played lights out in the first half and were up 41-37 over tOSU at the break.
Jantel sat the last 7:15 of the half with 2 fouls. Wiscy was very aggresive defending her, fronting and doubling her. But tOSU's offense wasn't bad, it's just that Wiscy shot 55% in the first half; and several of those shots were off the dribble over a defender.
In the second half they pounded it inside to Lavender, and Prahalis also came up big. Sammy and Jantel ended up with 29 and 27 respectively, as they won 82-73. Wiscy led most of the game, and the final score was deceiving as it was a 1-point game with a couple minutes left. It was one of the more entertaining women;s game I've seem in a while.
The Buckeyes were 34 of 38 (89.5%) from the FT line.
The opponent in the finals will be Iowa, who knocked off Sparty 59-54. DeHaan didn't play much for Sparty due to back problems.
Iowa has a very good 3-point shooter in the frosh Printy, a great rebounding guard in Kachine Alexander, and a good scorer in Wahlin.
The good news is that Iowa probably clinched an NCAA bid with their win over Sparty, so they don't need a win to keep playing. Despite being 10-8 in the conference, they've won 12 of their last 13 games.
The Iowa game will be on ESPN2 at 4:30 ET on Sunday.
