Adios
Yeah, I'm starting this already.

Jaroslav Halak to the Blues for prospect Lars Eller and Ian Schultz.

Surprised the Habs got rid of Halak instead of Price.. Halak is why they got as far as they did.

shhh....don't tell them that.

1 step forward 4 steps back keeps the Habs from ever regaining their former form.

Shit went down today.

Scott Niedermayer retired.

The Panthers traded Nathan Horton and Gregory Campbell to the Bruins for Dennis Wideman, the 15th overall pick and a 3rd rounder in 2011.

Tomas Plekanec re-signed with the Habs for 6 years/30 mill.

Matt Cooke re-signed with the Pens for 3 years/5.4 mill (1.8 per season).

Earlier this week Jason Arnott was traded back to New Jersey.

And probably the most important information of all, the cap is going up to $59.24 million. Great news to the Hawks and Penguins (among others).

Now that the cap has gone up... Shero, get Kovalchuk.

I couldn't find last season's thread. Season-long awards are being given out tonight on Versus.

2009-10 trophy winners:

Lady Byng - Martin St. Louis (stopping Datsyuk's streak at 4)

Norris Trophy - Duncan Keith

Hart Trophy - Henrik Sedin

Bufuglien/Eager/Sopel to Atlanta.

chicago had to do it - they are in cap hell otherwise.

that makes the central really interesting next year. Without this trade, I thought Chicago was the clear favorite. Now I'm not so sure.

Looks good to me as a Wings' fan.

Blackhawks losing guys left and right, Red Wings picking up the Hudler brothers from Russia and possibly Mike Modano I heard :) . I'm liking it as long as Lidstron comes back at full force and Jimmy Howard shows improvements.

The Wings still desperately need a power forward like what Bertuzzi used to be to drive the net.

And I seriously hope they don't pick up Modano. Getting Hudler back is bad enough, but they already have enough players who float around the perimeter - adding Modano won't help that at all either. Maybe 10 years ago, certainly, but not now.

Pens got a little more money to sign a winger too. If I was Shero I'd trade Kunitz and his 3.75 million dollar salarie and get someone who can actually pu the puck in the net. Right now the Pens got a top 5 defense, but I'm a little concerned with who's actually going to play next to sid.

Bet Staal moves to 2nd line to play with Malkin.
