Then that was misconstrued as me putting down the blog writers. I then offered my reasoning, in my "experienced/professional" opinion, meaning that my comments were coming from an honest/professional place and not from a personal/vindictive place that was meant to demean anyone's comments.
My "career" isn't on the internet, but I started my website b/c I enjoy creating/taking part in discussion. But not in "arguments" where people are going to skew statements to act like I'm claiming superiority rather than simply stating where my thoughts are coming from.
I've tried to stay out of this, and I'm not trying to pile on, but I can't leave that bolded part alone. Your first post looked like this:
Ohio State gets the edge in running backs and O-line?? c'mon now!
By just stating "c'mon now", and not providing any explanation regarding why you thought tOSU didn't have an advantage in the O-line, the critique of the preview got off on the wrong foot. Also, having an error stating that the preview gave tOSU the edge at OL (an error you admitted and edited in your post after it was pointed out), made if harder to initiallly accept whatever point you were trying to make in that post.
These previews go more in-depth than most other game previews. If I'm not mistaken, the video preview that you linked only mentioned the name of two Badgers (Clay and Tolzien). I realize there's only so much that can be said in a video limited to a few minutes, and I'm not trying to put down your video previews; but if you want to have your criticisms of a more in-depth preview taken seriously, your inital post in this thread was not a good start.
If your first post had said something like "Wiscy's O-line has paved the way for a solid running game so far, and has only yielded two sacks in 5 games, so I don't think the Buckeyes should have the edge in the O-line", I think there would be a great deal fewer posts discussing the topic. If you wish to post contrasting views in future game preview threads, I'd suggest using such an approach.
Personally, I don't think the game result proves either position. Neither O-Line had a very solid game, and the domination of Wiscy's O-line could be attributed to the great performance of tOSU's very deep D-line, whereas only Schofield had a big impact on the game from Wiscy's D-line.
Once again, I'm not trying to gang up on you here, I'm trying to explain why your critiques were received with such contention by a few folks here, and how such situations can be minimized going forward.
EDIT - my response was so long-winded that the Fungo/BK guy pointed out the same thing already
