He [censored]ed it by up taking 1 player met all the qualifications minus 1 portion of the bogus OGT test that Ohio has.

The same test that my daughter took and passed after she completed the eight grade.

Actually I am glad you took Turner. It means that the next time a Michigan fan breaks out the "Michigan Man" or "Harvard of the Midwest" crap, I can mention his name and laugh.

...JT Turner ... test scores and GPA were good enough for the state of Ohio to award him with a diploma.
I have never in my life heard of the State of Ohio "awarding" anyone with a high school diploma. Had no idea such a thing was even possible, or within the purview of state government. :so:

Yes, the benefits of knowing 5 teachers, three of which I am blood related. The school must submit a ton of paperwork; basically a portfolio of the kid on why he should be given his diploma despite not passing the OGT. The state decides on a case-by-case basis. So, to those who say he did not graduate, you are wrong. He did not pass the OGT, but he still graduated from HS, which is the only thing that was holding the NCAA up from clearing JT to play.

Not to get technical, because I agree with your point, but you actually take it the first time as a sophomore.

I don't know what happened in JT instance, so I'm not going to pretend to, but there is no reason he shouldn't have passed the test. Not only do I blame the kid, but also the administration at the school. You can take this test something like 5 or 6 times. After the second failing grade, the school needs to step in and get the kid some help in whatever subject he's not completing. I'd expect that kind of ineptitude from a HS in Florida, not Ohio. Ohio has a very good educational system. Certainly, near the top in the nation.

Who says you can't learn anything by lurking on these message boards? :wink2:

Hope the kid does well in school, and in life. Just not, specifically, in one game per season.
