Big House upgrades shaping up

Many improvements will be in place for first game of season

With Michigan Stadium?s $226-million renovation project a little more than half complete, progress has taken major leaps ? as will be evident when the Wolverines kick off against Western Michigan in nine days.
Exterior brick work fills the east and west sides. A standing restroom and the concessions and merchandise buildings at the north and south ends are complete. And the frame and outside glass are in on the suite level.
During a Wednesday media tour, project and U-M officials updated the progress, including providing a peek into one of the completed suites.
Michigan associate athletic director Joe Parker said U-M has received $10,000 deposits for 58 of the 82 available suites, and 70% of the club seats are committed as well.
The pledged individuals have been choosing their seats online at www.michiganstadiumproject.com, and all new commitments will be on a first-come, first-choose basis.

I don't think the 3 QB thing will last that long.

They'll be down to one QB when the other two pipsqueaks get carted off the field - and scUM fans will tell us the last one standing was clearly the better player all along.

Looks like Penn State may well lead the nation in attendance this season.

Big House suites cost up to $85K per year

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- The University of Michigan has sold much of the premium seating at the Big House despite a poor economy, a school-record nine losses last season and a finished product people couldn't see.
Senior associate athletic director Joe Parker said Wednesday the school has commitments for 70 percent of the luxury suites and almost 70 percent of the club seats that will be in the new-look Michigan Stadium in 2010.

"We're pleased with where we are," Parker said during a tour of the $226 million renovation. "When the project is complete, we expect all of our premium seating to be sold."

For $55,000 to $85,000 per season and at least a three-year commitment, well-heeled fans will have 16 comfortable seats in a 15-foot wide by 28-foot deep box that comes with two TVs, granite countertops and sapele wood cabinets.
...

Parker said 58 of the 82 suites have been secured with $10,000 deposits.
There are 3,000-plus club seats that cost $1,500-$4,000 each per season. Some of them are indoor and most of the outdoor ones are covered.
...

Construction began the day after the Wolverines lost to Ohio State in November 2007.

The masonry and roof on each side of the stadium has been completed and construction crews are working on finishing off the insides of the towering structures along each sideline at the storied venue.

After Michigan hosts the Buckeyes this season, the existing press box will be torn down and 704 chairback seats with contoured backs and cup holders will be built in its place.

To improve wheelchair access, the stadium's capacity dipped to 106,201 and slipped behind Penn State's Beaver Stadium as the country's biggest football venue. Parker expects the Big House will be back on top with 108,000-plus seats in the future.

I wasn't really speechless

Yeah, we figured that out when you posted again 8 minutes later! :tongue2:

Anyway, haven't any of the scUM fans seen Sheridan or "DRob" throw a football? Or has the ugliness of last season burned out their retinas completely, and they can only go by the lies spread by the scUm coaches?

Apparently "shoelace" doesn't need to throw. He's really fast.

How fast? When he ran a wind sprint at the end of practice, he teleported back in time to the beginning of practice. That's why he's so good, actually... he just runs back to the beginning of practice and so he gets a shit ton of reps every day... it's all he does.
