RR used his snake oil to get 2010 DB Courtney Avery to switch his verbal from Stanford to UM.

Courtney is a sleeper prospect that also held Vanderbilt, Indiana and Louisville offers

...also Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan and Toledo. Does nothing to change the perception that he's speding his most of his time chasing, or at least bringing in, second tier recruits.

Hmmm, would be interesting if he was offered. I thought RR wanted to find one guy that could punt and kick?

Why bother? He just signed a PK in the last class. Unless he's convinced that guy won't pan out, it seems as though he'd do better by getting a quality dedicated punter.

I think the rationale is that if Gibbons can do both pretty well, RR doesn't want to use two scholarships on special teams. And the one plus about Gibbons is his leg strength.

I don't know though. I'm perfectly fine with using up scholarships for special teams. SP has such a huge impact on the game, there's no reason not to have quality at both positions.

He punted in HS. I'm pretty sure he'll be doing both at UM.
