If ND can hold hands to players with a 900 on their sat to a BUSINESS DEGREE at a top 10 undergrad bschool in the country, MICHIGAN BETTER BE ABLE TO DO THE SAME. Yes I know former nd players that will say they are hand fed the degree.......and the reason they went to nd. Well, MICHIGAN better take care of our athletes, ALL OF THEM and if that means hand feeding our athletes a degree....ie hold their hand every step of the way, then by goodness we do it.

Ann Arbor -- Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez said he will use the spring to "tweak" his offense and defense. The objective on both sides of the ball is to take advantage of the Wolverines' speed.

With that in mind, the Michigan defense has been working on a 3-3-5 scheme that typically is used by teams that have greater speed than size. Rodriguez used the defense at West Virginia. As it suggests, the 3-3-5 has three down linemen, three linebackers and five defensive backs.

"The coaches are taking it step-by-step this year to change the problems we had last year with these blown coverages and missed assignments," U-M cornerback Troy Woolfolk said before Tuesday's practice. "As a whole defense we're taking it on pretty good."

I've had about enough of Tom Beaver's bullshit. Beavers have always had a tender place in the hearts (and other places) with humanity, and I'm tired of him soiling our good name.


  • Making up contradictory bullshit every time a kid goes elsewhere (UM didn't want him, the other team bought him)

  • Running off Maizeman - and now coachBT - by getting them banned from UM practice so his practice reports don't look so lousy

  • By far the worst, creating an atmosphere of vitriolic, foil-cap wearing blowhards. RR criticism = subverse, but Carr bashing is welcomed (and was while he was the coach)

Case in point:

What is the first response to the thread about RR's latest lawsuit? Beaver scoffing and saying it has nothing to do with RR :roll1:


I suppose it's fitting that he's obsessed with tracking our rabid cousins, the skunkbears.

There are more typos and misspelled words on that site than you'd expect from a family that takes themselves so seriously.

Actually, it's a shrewd strategy. Last year, teams often dominated TSUN by holding on to the ball with long sustained rushing drives that ate up the clock.

Not anymore.

Give credit where credit is due. Rich has examined the metrics and come up with a shrewd response.

Against this new 3-3-5, teams won't be able to hang on to the ball with sustained rushing drives. Three or four long rushes in a row and they'll be forced to score very quickly and kick the ball back to TSUN.

See the wisdom? No more keeping his offense off the field. OK, fine, the other team scoring so many points is a bit of a problem, but the time-of-possession problem will be solved. It's brilliant, in that way!
