Todd Reynolds, the agent for forward Chris Neil, is set to meet with Senators general manager Bryan Murray this afternoon in a final attempt to sign the veteran tough guy to a new contract.
The 29-year old Neil is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season and is said to be looking for a deal in the ranger of $2.5 million per season

The agent for the Czech blue liner has reportedly offered the Senators a home town discount that would have a salary cap hit of about $4 million a season. His agent has also denied a report that they are seeking at least $4.5 million per year.
If deals cannot be worked out, both players will likely be moved prior to the deadline

The Minnesota Wild have locked up a big piece of their franchise as they have signed goaltender Niklas Backstrom to a four-year contract extension.
The deal is worth $6 million per season and ends all speculation that the Finnish netminder would be on the move at the NHL's Trade Deadline on Wednesday.

flyers want jay bo. flyers dont have the salary so theyd have to move salary while keeping the offer acceptable for jay bo. biron on the move if this happens likely to phx to which he would be sent off from there (maybe to buffalo as an alternative to ryan miller due to his injury). biron has a NTC, so hed have to approve the whole thing...

Bs are shopping manny fernandez to phx, the yotes then want to swap him out (buffalo again).

panthers maybe shopping boynton has he was sent home from the roadie this weekend for getting into deboers face in the dressing room. ellerby has been called up on this depends on cullimore who says he wont play until his wife has her baby (likely today through thursday).

colorado has ian laperrierre ottawa has chris neil who wont be resigned.

the sharks are looking for depth at the forward position due to injuries (foc, mitchell, jr, grier). maybe a tango there?

moore and antropov wont play tonite

Leafs' Antropov and Moore to sit out game versus Devils

a look at the blackhawks possible moves/available guys
http://dailyherald.com/story/?id=276206&src=149
Sami Pahlsson: The 31-year-old Anaheim center is sidelined with mono, which complicates his situation. Pahlsson has appeared in 64 playoff games and was a checking force in 2007 when the Ducks won the Stanley Cup. He wins 53 percent of his faceoffs.
Tim Connolly: The Buffalo center fits the mold of the kind of guy Tallon wants to add. He's only 27, is 6-feet-1 and 196 pounds, and highly skilled. He might be the best all-around center available, though injury prone, should the Sabres decide to move him. Connolly has a $2.9 million cap hit and will be an unrestricted free agent like Pahlsson.
Ian Laperriere: The Avalanche pest is more of a winger than center, but he is nasty to play against and has 54 games of playoff experience.
Radek Bonk: The Nashville center is out with an undisclosed injury but expected back in another week. He's a 62 percent faceoff guy, No. 1 in the NHL, and will be an unrestricted free agent as well.
Nik Antropov
: Some scouts think Antropov doesn't skate well enough to fit in with the Hawks and can be lazy. He's also set to become an unrestricted free agent. He is big, but he wins only 41 percent of his faceoffs.
Dominic Moore: Another Toronto center, Moore 12 goals and 41 points and wins 55 percent of his faceoffs. Would he help? Maybe, but the Maple Leafs aren't sure they want to part with him.
Jeff Halpern: The 32-year-old Tampa Bay center is a solid player who isn't flashy or a big scorer. He's got decent size, wins 55 percent of his faceoffs and is signed through next season at $2 million.
Mark Recchi: Don't laugh. The 40-year-old Lightning winger could help a lot of teams on the power play in the playoffs, including the Hawks. Recchi has 117 points in 140 playoff games.
Antoine Vermette: The Senators may or may not move him, but he is a center who could help anyone.
Steve Montador: He gets overlooked on Anaheim's star-studded defense, but he is plus-15 with an edgy 123 penalty minutes.
Chris Pronger: It would take two or three good, young players to get him away from the Ducks, and not prospects. Would you include 23-year-old Brent Seabrook in a deal for the 34-year-old Pronger? No way.

Forget about Connolly to the CBJ. According to Dreger, he's close to signing a deal to stay in Buffalo. If true, good for them. They've lost alot of good players to fa the last few years.

JO or anyone else who follows hockey closely. Is there any chance my Devs move Clemmensen?

I don't see the Devils moving much unless they are moving him in a multi-player deal that upgrades them somewhere else. That team is pretty well put together. I don't have any real knowledge of the situation, other than reading far too many sites for Hockey in an attempt to see what the CBJ might do.

It seems like kind of a waste to have him languishing in the minors when he's a free agent next year.
