Word is that Pronger has been traded to LA for Jack Johnson and the 5th overall pick.

Does LA really need a d-man? Thought they had some huge needs at forward. Much bigger than defense, anyways. They have a good top pair of young guys, with Doughty and Quincey. Doughty looks like he's going to be great.. (EDIT: I don't know if that's their top pair now that I think about it. But they have some good, young talent on the blue line in LA)

Maybe Ottawa (Heatley) or Tampa Bay (Lecavalier) are involved?

Haven't heard anything else about that rumor I posted.

Saw this link on another forum and found it funny. Wasn't sure where to post it, so it goes here. Have to have a nice chuckle at the Rangers. Redden, Gomez and Drury are their top three worst contracts. It shouldn't come as a surprise, but it's still funny.

I've been reading a lot that the Flyers are trying to unload Briere's contrat so they can make a run at JayBo, but nobody wants him.

I figured Briere would be on there. He's such a pussy.

Minnesota apparently has the best offer for Heatley right now, what it is, I'm not sure. Ottawa apparently wants a couple Kings players + the fifth pick from LA for Heatley as well.

Apparently Toronto has received a significant offer for Kaberle. The team is rumored to be one of the teams in the running for JayBo. Considering what the next rumor is, I'd have to guess it's Philly?

The Canucks are close to acquiring the rights to JayBo. Marian Gaborik has also apparently purchased a house in/near Vancouver.

Toronto is also apparently close to signing Gustavvson (Swedish goalie).

Sergei Federov has signed with Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the KHL.

i was once told trusting burke is like pissing into the wind, it may work out time to time and i might recommend it but id never do it...


that being said whats the best way to drive up the value? well if you have two deals on the table say four, you cant fabricate deals teams "know" but you can drive that up a tad, especially around the two big trade times (deadline and draft/signing day)

puck possession guy. plays a euroish game for sure. that being said his worst season for the sharks has been what 86 points? (that over a ppg). the playoff thing is kind of a myth also, hes about a ppg player with the sharks even though i will be the first to admit his slow down possession and feed game doesnt translate as well to playoff hockey. cap hit of 7.2m for the next two years. rick and joe are friends for sure. but you have vermette and brass down the first two pivots. which one do you chuck? (cuz youve got to chuck somebody on the pivot) and what else does it take? lets assume it will take your first (#16) so thats vermette, #16 overall + ? do you have to ship more salary? another player? prospects?

maybe but color me shocked if it happens. shocked.

Rumor that the Bruins have Kessel and a high pick or prospect on the table for Kaberle.

EDIT: Pick isn't high I guess, non-first rounder. I thought a first + Kessel seemed like a lot.
