Early '09 Mock Draft

2. Laurinaitis, OSU, Falcons
3. Jenkins, OSU, Dolphins
19. Boone, OSU, Packers
22. Robiskie, OSU, Steelers
23. Wells, OSU, Cleveland

I have some gripes with the overall mock draft, but it's encouraging to see this kind of publicity before Robo & Wells turn it up a notch.

Wells- waaaaay too low. Top 10 guaranteed barring a major injury.
JL- Depends on how high teams in need of LB's are picking. I don't think he'll go quite as high as #2 but I certainly would rule it out, especially with the amount of success young LB's are having right now(Demeco Ryans, David Harris, Patrick Willis, and Hawk to name a few).
MJ- I can see it but I'll lean towards the 5-6 range. He will be the first DB chosen.
Boone- About right.
Robiskie- About right.

Only two QB's in next year's draft and one is Painter. I know this is very early but seeing that maybe Todd will be a second rounder.

Nice to see the early love for the Buckeyes.

Also, the Browns will have the 31st choice next year.

Painter shouldn't go before round 4. System QB, nothing more.

EDIT- They have him going #9 overall? Dear Lord! And to the Chicago Bears no less. They already have a Curtis Painter and his name is Kyle Orton.
Maybe Painter will improve with another year of college:lol:. Would your Seahawks be interested in Anderson:lol:

 I was thinking the same. Zippy chance Painter goes that high

Not sure where to post this, but I figure if its in regards to the 2009 NFL Draft including players from this years team why not this year's thread.

Scout.com: NFL Draft: 2009 First-Round Mock Draft

1. Miami - James Laurinaitis, Ohio State, LB
The Dolphins made modest strides in 07, but are continuing on the course of improving the defensive unit with the latest in a long line of top inside backers produced by the Buckeyes.

2. Kansas City - Malcolm Jenkins, Ohio State, CB
Passing on a corner in the opening round proved to be the Chiefs' undoing. With Marty Schottenheimer back in town and wearing both hats (coach and GM), this aspect of the game will be taken care of very quickly.

4. Oakland - Beanie Wells, Ohio State, RB
After a two-year absence, Denny Green returns to the bay area as the first major change in new managing general partner Carl Peterson era.

12. Carolina - Alex Boone, Ohio State, OT
After losing tackle Jordan Gross to the Broncos, the Panthers immediately began the search for a replacement. New coach Mike Martz surprisingly selects an offensive tackle over a homerun receiver in his first draft as the Panthers head coach. Acquiring Charlie Whitehurst from the

FOUR of the top 12 off the board? Thats pretty ridiculous...and the even more ridiculous thing is, it could very well be true.
