2009 NFL Draft (Mocks, Evaluation, etc.)

Miami broke their duck this draft in the 6th round.

You would have to go back before Miami had a relevant football team for a similar dearth of selections - to 1981 precisely. Schnellenberger was already there, but the notion that Miami would contend for a national championship, let alone be a farm club for the pros was still little recognized beyond his dreams.

Is he incorrect? They've built a helluva program and they are envied throughout America.

He's not totally incorrect, but apparently you can also get to the NFL if you got to another school like UConn.

Heck, if you suck hard enough you can even go to M*ch*g*n and Bengals will pick you.

Robiskie too. I didn't see too many mock drafts predicting that he'd go at the top of the second round.
there was buzz that Robo could sneak into the first round. McPretty on ESPN threw a fit about that potential outcome.

While the author of that article may have thought Evans made a mistake coming out, it seems that the author still would have been surprised, as I was, that Evans wouldn't be drafted at all--here's a quote from the article:

"His stock last year was a first to second round pick, and now he will drop more likely to a second or third round pick."
