im not worried about rolles play in the middle im worried about spitlers play on the outside, yeah shure we will be fine against michigan, wisconsin and northwestern but once we face juggernauts like florida or alabama idk how we would do with all that speed. i guess we will just have to see when sc comes to the shoe in 13 days!:oh:

you guys need to quit freaking out too, im not saying anything bad about osu.

Once again let me explain this to you. There is no difference in speed between OSU and SEC teams when it comes to skill players, DB's, and LB's. The reasons we have lost two games bad in the NC games is the battle of the lines.

Guys like Ted Ginn, Santonio Holmes, Chris Wells, Malcolm Jenkins, etc were all first round picks for a reason.

When you look at last year's draft guys like Marcus Freeman, James Laurinatis, Malcolm Jenkins, Brian Robiskie, Brian Hartline, and Chris Wells all performed in the Top 20 at their respective postion when it comes to 40 times. Most of our players were faster than most of the USC players, and many SEC stars.

The problem is that in those two games we couldnt get pressure on the QB the way we would have liked and most importantly their D-Line dominated our O-Line.

The south isnt faster. If it was then why does schools like Florida and USC recruit players like ROJO, Ted Ginn, and PErcy Harvin who all come from the North?

The only edge the South has are their linemen. Not that it is always that way because the North produces a plethora of great linemen, but specifically in those games we were dominated on the line.

The Buckeyes get Top 10 recruiting classes over guys like LSU, Georgia, Bama, etc for a reason.

Exactly!!! I'm not worried about our LBs and I think our DL may have caught up with some of the other elites. I still worry about the Oline as a unit.

Yeah our linebackers will be fine with the huge improvement of our D-Line. I feel we are a year away from the offensive line being dominant for the 1st time in years.

I completely agree. I think that the Oline should have the strength and size to get a push and open up holes in the running game, but do they have the speed to pass block the smaller, faster DEs?

Back to the LBs though, I don't see a speed issue, nor have I seen one in the last couple of years. The only reason people were making all the claims about tOSU linebackers being too slow to keep up with Florida players is because we kept getting caught in bad defensive schemes and were matching LBs up in pass coverage against WRs.... that usually isn't going to turn out well no matter what part of the country your school is from.

If our LBs aren't having to constantly fight off blocks from olinemen that reach the second level....I'm pretty confident in the coaching staff that our LBs will be in position to make plays. Of course a lot of that is on the DLine.

There was that one TD in the NC game against LSU where the TE was left wide open.....I still don't understand how we were so out of position there...or was it just confusion?
