The Yankees are going to sign Teixera...this is getting ridiculous...absolutely fucking ridiculous. They are probably going to get Manny too. Payroll up to around $400 million for next year. I'm glad my team is not in the American League.

Motherfuck the Yankees. Every year, I get incredibly irritated at them basically buying anybody they want, then I realize it makes their failures in October all the more entertaining.

That said, baseball needs to implement some form of salary cap. When one team can sign the top three free agents in a given year (assuming they sign Manny), something is seriously wrong.

Agree completely. This is the Yankees being the Yankees, but they have taken it to an entirely new level with their irresponsible spending. I'm going to be on cloud nine when this all blows up in their face again.

You never know the way the Mets throw around money they might go after Sheets also.

The above will never get done in my lifetime because the Players Association would have to agree to it and they aren't going to agree to anything that is going to cost them money. The only way a salary cap will be implemented in baseball is if one or two of the smaller market teams almost go under or do go under.

Not a chance. Mets owners lost 300 million in that Nadoff dealy. Plus they've got this kid Jon Niese they want to give a shot at the 5th starter spot. Tim Redding is a likely signing for 5th starter/long relief guy.

I had forgotten about that bad investment:! You are correct they probably won't be throwing that much money around this year with that loss.
