2009 BPCFFB League #2 Season Thread

edit: never mind, that's just the discount. I'm not smart.
We all knew that:biggrin2:

I guess if Josh can't find anything else out there I don't think it would be too much trouble for everyone to keep track of their own rosters and points. Everyone would certainly have to make a commitment to do so that we probably would have to Set up a waiver thread where it would be first-come/first-serve for adds and drops.

I would hate to space on Josh's server. That just doesn't seem right to me. What website does the "big boys" league on BuckeyePlanet use:huh:

I assume we will still start the draft this coming Monday while we work things out. Also, how long is this season going to last? I remember last year we did not make that decision until the middle of the season and that was not very smart on our part but it was our first time.
Don't forget to give your donations to BuckeyePlanet:pimp:

Anyone know what this $3 offer is?

USports.AthlonSports.com - Fantasy College Football and Basketball - Sign Up
$14.95 $11.95/team
($3.00) offer ends 7/31

What are you doing:huh: You just reactivated your team from last year on Athlon. Does that mean you're willing to go with that or what and what about everybody else? As I said, I will go with what ever works for everybody else but remember we would not be together if it were not for BuckeyePlanet.

We'll use Ohio State's schedule as our league's schedule. Our season will begin on September 5th and we'll have two weeks of playoffs, which will be November 14th and November 21st.

Using BP is fine with me. I know the other league uses yahoo's stats to compile their scores and then post the results on here. We can just do that, so that way people aren't paying for anything. When it comes to waivers, we'll have to come up with some rules on when you can make a waiver request and if there is any type of waiver order. First come, first serve will probably be the easiest thing to do and make it to where we can't make any moves until the Monday following our games. How's that sound?

I am fine with that unless Josh comes up with something really good:) I think the big boys league on here has a waiver thread. Not sure how it is used. People will have to be very careful about bye weeks when drafting.

Don't forget everybody give a little contribution to Buckeyeplanet:)

phpffl is a free website/database program for fantasy football. I'll dig into it more next week, I've got a few things to keep me busy this weekend. Either way, we have a few months to figure this out, and the draft will be done on BP anyway.

phpffl.com :: View topic - phpffl for NCAA Football?
Sure, that would be no problem...but phpffl is separate from the stats feed. It's stats feed independant...it's not really built into the program itself. phpffl can use any stats feed for NFL, NCAA as long as the stats are present in the feed. All someone would have to do is write a parser for the feed to import the data into phpffl.

If you find a stats feed you want to use let me know and I can write a HowTo on how to get the stats into phpffl.

You could update the stats manually, although this would probably be cumbersome...but it's possible. You would just have to go into the Admin section, click on players and then click "Modify Stats" I think where you can input there stats for any given week.
At the very least, we could enter the stats ourselves. Too bad I forgot 99% of my programming knowledge, or I might be able to do the first paragraph's suggestion.

Are we going to use the same rosters as we did last year which Is below. I really don't think that we need 9 bench players if we are going to have a waiver wire. I would think one additional QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, PK, and a defensive team. Whoops, I guess that does add up to nine. Maybe one edition know RB and WR. That would make it seven bench players. I think that would be enough with the waiver wire to cover by weeks but whatever you think best Mr. Commissioner.

The lineups consist of the following:
QB
RB
RB
WR
WR
TE
RB/WR
K
Defense
9 Bench Positions

Me, I appreciate you guys doing the hard work and heavy lifting getting it all together. I am going to be gone (from da interwebs) while at summer camp with my scouts until July 4. I may be able to get on sporadically depending on the camp set up, but I will not be there to draft players. I assume we are a way away from that, but just wanted to let you know.

We actually have scheduled the draft to begin tonight at midnight and you have the first pick. If you already know who you want, go ahead and select them or PM me and I'll make the selection for you.

We'll be using the same roster size as last year
