2009 BPCFFB League #2 Draft Thread!

I sent a PM to buckeyemania earlier tonight. He has until Tuesday at 10:45am to make his selection or he will drop to the bottom of the 1st round.

I think 24 hours to make a pick is a bit much. I'm in Europe from July 7-22.. it may work then, as I will probably have limited access :)

12 hour limit?
I'm about to go on vacation starting Friday. I can check in once a day, but I do not have access or an opportinity to do so in a 12 hr period. I'm driving my scouts to North Alabama all day Saturday. I can check in at 11:00 pm if the church we are bunking at has a wifi.

Really, people are not using the 24 hours just to wait and see. I doubt that it will be used by anyone who is not out of pocket. Let's keep the 24, but if you know who you want, go ahead and pick so we can move it.

Anyone who is going to be out of the area, send me a list of players (like we did last year) and I will select your highest rated player for you. I know it may be tough in the early rounds, but we'll give it a shot. If we have to suspend the draft for a little while people are out of town, then we will. We do need to get moving though incase we have to suspend the draft later.

I think he should be dropped until he makes his pick whether that be in the first round or the second round or whatever. If you miss your pick in the NFL draft, you miss your pick until it is submitted. I don't think people should commit to something that they are not going to have the time for.

I mean 24 hours... please. I know sometimes there are extenuating circumstances, like starBUCKS mentioned, but if everyone would take 24 hours all of our guys probably would have graduated. When starBUCKS is over in Europe, we will know that so we can give him a 24 hour limit but if we suspend this draft for any length of time than we probably will be in trouble come August.

I thought that was what we were going to do. If a guy knew who he wanted and it is time for him to make his selection, the selection was made. A person shouldn't waste any time if they are up. I thought we're just giving people 24 hours if there were insinuating circumstances such as yourself currently and starBUCKS in July. I say if a person has overcommitted themselves we can always play with 11 players. We certainly are not bound to 12 players like last year because we haven't even made up a schedule. Not harping at you but mania11 seem to be late quite a few times last year if my memory serves me right.

I get you, but I don't see why it is a problem this way. For example, if I can get on-line once a day, I doubt that when I get on-line it will be 23 and a half hours after the last pick. It might be ten minutes after the pick before me. The 24 hour thing is the extreme.

And last year we started on July 21. I mean, we have a frickin' one month head start over last year and you are worried about getting the draft done? :pissed:

You are just jealous of my success last year, when I almost won one from a guy who had two players idle.

I will pm you regarding my situation. However, I would like to say that when we started the draft this year certain rules were agreed upon.

Alright well since buckeyemania failed to make his selection in the 24 hour window, he will be dropped to the bottom of the first round. jwins, you're on the clock.

Gator and I had a little discussion and we are both in agreement that we would like to keep the 24-hour rule in effect for at least a while longer. Making the picks yourself is half the fun and we would like to keep it that way for a while longer. However, I still think Buckeyemania11 should be allowed to pick when he checks in but the rules are the rules.
