I have to ask -- why is Oklahoma ranked at all? I get the coaches doing it because they're retarded, but why the AP, or anybody around here?

They're 3-3. They have lost every time they have played a ranked team. Their only wins are over unranked Tulsa, Idaho State and Baylor.

So again I ask: WHY ARE THEY RANKED?

Some of us actually understand what we're watching, others only know "record versus ranked teams", and run their mouths.

Let's see your poll, genius.

Frankly, I think that they are deeper and a better team than most of the teams ahead of them.....I really liked the way they played against Texas, and think that they at times looked better than the Longhorns. But, a 3-3 record dooms them to No.25 in my opinion....couldn't think of anyone else to put at No.25....other nominees may have been South Florida, Notre Dame, Mississippi or even Wisconsin.....and from that list I prefer Oklahoma.

I'm still watching footage and compiling my poll.

I watched the game, and I've watched Oklahoma quite a bit this season. They haven't impressed. Injuries have really hurt the team, yes -- but that's where the team is right now. They don't really have a rushing game to speak of and their backup QB now has to take over for the rest of the season, and he's average at this point (still young, of course).

But based on your implication that I don't "understand" what I'm watching and just run my mouth, why would you want to see my poll at all?

Please, educate me on what you've seen from Oklahoma that has impressed you enough to keep them ranked at 3-3. What are you understanding that my feeble intellect can't grasp?

Oklahoma lost by a combined 4 points to the number 3 and 8 team in the country, without their returning Heisman QB and a couple other future NFL players. Make it a total of 5 points when you throw in a top 20 BYU team.

5 points... that's it.

I could see this reasoning... it's true that they haven't been blown out. It could definitely come down to differences in how people compile their polls.

I guess I just wonder if people who are ranking them now believe they will win out, considering they still won't have their returning Heisman QB for probably the rest of the year. It just seems like people are ranking them based on history and maybe "missed chances" than actual performance and realistic expected performance.

I'm judging them on here and now, their "actual performance" has been impressive enough to be ranked in the top 25.

My reasons are perfectly stated above.....all those above games which they lost could have gone either ways. Trust me when I say the bookmakers will have Oklahoma favored in all their remaining scheduled games whether teams are ranked above them or not. That includes Oklahoma State, Kansas and Nebraska. BTW, the latest odds have Oklahoma favored by a TD over Kansas in their next game, even though Kansas is ranked higher and the game is at Kansas.
