Giants Draft Needs
Urgent: The Giants urgently need a franchise left offensive tackle so they can move David Diehl to the right side where he would dominate and move Kareem McKenzie to a reserve swing offensive tackle role.
Strong: A strong need for a an upgrade at strong side outside linebacker -- a player who can rush, cover, and stuff the run -- to give the team even more versatility and ingenuity when calling defensive schemes. Anthony Pierce is thirty, and his play declined last season. The Giants have a strong need for an upgrade at middle linebacker.
Moderate: A running back to rotate behind Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw assuming Jacobs re-signs and Derrick Ward leaves via free agency.
Nice to Have: Depth at offensive tackle and a fourth safety.
Wild Card: Will either Domenik Hixon, Mario Manningham, or one of the other young wide receivers step up to become dominant to replace Plaxico Burress, who shot himself in the leg? Furthermore, Amani Toomer WR may or may not return. Will Ward RB be lost to free agency?
