2008 U.S. Army All-American Bowl - Jan. 5th

Flemming and Newman actually did look good. Just not Golic, McClelland, and Cwynar. Blanton also looked pretty good for the Irish in the 7 on 7's. Coples is very impressive but I liked Forston as the most impressive DL. William Green was really impressive at DE but I would like to see how he plays the run.

There were many players who could be considered in contention as the second session MVP, but because of his combined effort in both practices the Scout.com experts decided that DeVier Posey should get the nod.

First post....HELLO EVERYONE!

Adams looks like he's on a entirely different level than the rest of the
OL and while it looked like all the west OL struggled JB looked the best.

Washington looks like a beast....he reminded me of Everson Griffen last year

Golic did appear to be outclassed.

Question....Does anyone have a link to pics from San Antonio?

Scout.com may no longer be the online content provider of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, but they still had coverage teams in place to bring their customers exclusive information. Here is a look at a photo gallery of the West team in action.

Watching the vids, was most impressed with Adams and Forston from the East (how did they not match up once?!), and RJ Washington, Wes Horton, and Ben Habern.

Golic and McLelland didn't look like college players. And I was thoroughly unimpressed with Lucas Nix. He is a five star?

It's Clelland*.....and it was expected for Golic to struggle the way he is because he is way undersized and is one of those "project" OL you bring in that will not start or contribute until some time down the road. Clelland is also on the smaller side and he will be most likely just like Golic. Golic I don't think should've made the game, but it's Lemming and no ND fan claims to like him anyway. Is 14 more than too many? Yes, but if it was 14 Buckeye commits playing you'd be pumped whether they deserve it or not because you get to see them in action. Fleming, Filer, McDonald, Crist, Floyd, Rudolph, Gray, Goodman, Trevor R., Cwynar (got the #1 player in Illinois award this year) and Blanton all deserved to be there. Ethan Johnson is hurt and decided not to make the trip at all. I think Newman, Clelland, Golic were throw ins because the ESPN game took many other players away, but Newman is preforming well so far. If you look at the ND list of deserving spots it's a little more than you, but that would make sense since ND has the #1 class in the country right now and more players committed.

As I mentioned before, the ND angle has been beaten (now pulverized) into the ground...let's keep this about updates and evaluation from the Army bowl practices and game...

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS?Tuesday morning practice was more relaxed and held in uppers and shorts. Practice saw a lot of special teams and offense as they were the priority. Some players that struggled yesterday seemed to be more relaxed and played a lot better.

West Notebook: Not an easy decision

"I remember running out and actually getting the tee on kickoffs when my dad coached at Texas," Nolan Brewster said. "That was great. I remember watching Ricky Williams play and hanging out with him was probably one of my favorite memories."

Nolan Brewster might be the only person in recorded history to actually remember hangin out with Ricky. Everyone else seems to be a little "hazy" on the matter.
