Extra, extra, read all about it
Normally, during spring or fall camp or the regular season, Tim May and I have written an Ohio State notebook every day. In recent times, as space has become more of an issue, often we only write one story a day, and notebooks sometimes bite the dust.
I used to save up notes I gathered from interview sessions. But now I'm realizing that a ton of notes end up never getting printed.
I am still saving a few, at least for now. But there are plenty more that won't see the light of day unless I get them in this blog.
So, without further ado, I thought I'd throw out some observations and quotes gleaned from the first 10 days of spring-ball interviews:
MARCH 26, Jim Tressel
--- He was asked how incoming freshman QB Terrelle Pryor ended up switching from his No. 11 at Jeannette, Pa., to No. 2, which he will wear this fall.
Tressel joked that it was a seniority thing. Well then, how come Jake Stoneburner got No. 11? He's a fellow freshman, after all.
Well, he's here already, Tressel countered, tongue in cheek. We all know that Pryor was going to get whatever number he wanted, unless it has been retired.
