2008 Rivals/Scout/etc. National & Regional Rankings

I find Patchan's high rating baffling...I like Brewster, Kalil, Adams, Jenkins, Tyron Smith, Shugarts, Love, Good, and Nix better. I know he has a lot of upside but I think he is a lower top 100 player. However, being uncommited probably helps quite a bit.

....until he came back and put up almost 600 yards in the past 2 games. His first game back he went for 18-272-6. Tyron Smith a little on the smallish side for an OT, but I suppose he'll grow into it. I honestly think Mike Brewster is the #1 OT in the country in the year and you guys are lucky to have him. He's so good. McGuffie not being in the top 100 is a little weird, but I assume his injury had something do with that.

I don't know if Terrelle Pryor is the clear-cut #1 everyone says he is (No, not because he's an OSU lean). I'd probably put him at #2, but that Julio Jones kid is unreal. Great size, speed, unreal leaping ability. Can't go wrong with either player, just my opinion. Jones is a much more polished player but Pryor's upside is ridiculous.

But it would be great to have a 5 star QB like that. We're in the need of a QB as well. Boeckman only has 1 year left, I don't know if Robbie can lead the team, Henton may be the future of the Buckeyes, but to be safe, picking Pryor would be great for OSU.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Several earn way into Rivals100

Updated top 100...of note (previous ranking):

#1 Terrelle Pryor (1)
#8 Michael Brewster (8)
#23 Devier Posey (27)
#32 Lamaar Thomas (34)
#45 Devoe Torrence (37)
#47 Etienne Sabino (83)
#53 Shayne Hale (20)
#58 Garrett Goebel (74)
#77 Jake Stoneburner (93)
#82 J.B. Shugarts (82)
#84 Mike Adams (101)

Buckeye commits moving up? What's this nonsense?

Mike Adams of Dublin (Ohio) Coffman has been one of the most heavily debated players in the nation in this recruiting cycle. He has been a borderline Rivals100 prospect throughout the early stages of the process. However, this season he has been one of the most dominating offensive tackle prospects.

Adams, who has committed to Ohio State, moves from No. 101 in the nation to No. 84 – and could climb higher.

"Mike Adams is extremely athletic for a big man," Every said. "I saw him running backward on a screen, then spin around and block someone. Most skilled athletes can't do that. He's definitely stepped up his game as a senior, and he's proven to all of us that he's one of the nation's elite offensive tackle prospects."

Brandon Harris and Michael Shaw also jumped into the top 100 while Josh Jenkins dropped out...

I like these rankings (especially as a Bukeye fan). Torrence's drop is understandable even though he still ran well. Patchan is still way high, Bradham is too, and Brown is too low. They are just going nuts on Florida cool-aid because Futch is a great player but should around 80-100 imo. Marcus Robinson is well rated though and I think he is a ton better than Bradham. Not sure what they are smoking with DJ Monroe. I definetly agree with Burton Scott getting his 5th star as well. Sounds as if Every would have rated Adams in the top 5 OL in the country if he had the choice. If Burton will put his pride aside then Adams will be a 5 star. Thomas isn't far away from a 5th star and a trip to an AA game would likely help his cause a lot. Glad to see Micheal in the top 100.
