Ohio

Of note:

#1 Mike Adams
#3 Devoe Torrence
#4 Devier Posey
#5 Jake Stoneburner
#6 Kevin Koger
#8 Dan McCarthy
#9 Cordale Scott
#12 Nathan Williams
#17 DJ Woods
#22 Isiaih Pead
#53 Ben Buchanan

I wonder if there's ever been another year where 4 of the top 7 players in Ohio were listed as TE's.

How do you have a top 150 without DeVier Posey? ESPN continues to baffle me.

You'd probably be hard pressed to find one person from ESPN that has any say on that list that saw any of Devier's workouts this summer...

How about Shayne Hale and Kyle Rudolph in the hundreds?

Blaine Gabbert and Dayne Crist as top 15 players?

They even have Kyle Long rated.

Tyron Smith in the hundreds(he's a top five OT IMO)?

Jamie Harper and Ryan Williams in the top 30?

Goebel is also missing and ranked the 18th best DT in the nation?

For my money the other good rating system out there is Emfinger (as far as an alternative to Scout or Rivals is concerned). He has a really good sortable version of his database up and running now - it is free.
WOW!!! Andrew Sweat runs a 4.2 40?!?! lol. I like Emfinger, but I don't think that is a very complete list. I couldn't find Cordale Scott or Lamaar Thomas?

Yep, even Emfinger makes mistakes. On this occasion I'm guessing one of his data entry folks typed a shuttle time in the spot for a dash.
As to completeness, all these lists Scout, Rivals, Emfinger, or newcomer ESPN are, to some degree or other, incomplete.
Emfinger has stated that he typically likes to only rank players he has seen, or seen film upon (preferably both) better yet if they have been to a combine. Could simply be that neither Scott (Scout #139) nor Lamaar (Scout #186) made in on the basis of those omissions.

according to espn's ratings...it's apparently a down year in Ohio and a good thing Ohio State is focussing more OOS this year...all of two Ohio kids in the top 100 and 5 in the top 150?

Koger rated 54th in Ohio? Pead in the 60s?

Fred Craig and Taneareus Collins in the top 15 ahead of Beachum, Scott and Zordich?
