I still think that he is more of a TE, that is why I don't have him listed as a WR canidate...He would be a flex type TE and lineup at WR, but I am guessing they would recruit him as a TE...

...maybe a Johnny Harline type TE from BYU last year. I could live with that.

Buckeyes hope to land more early commitments
Saturday, March 10, 2007

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

If every recruit were like Ben Buchanan or Jamario O?Neal, life would be much easier for coach Jim Tressel and his Ohio State football staff. National signing day for players a year ahead of them in high school was barely over when they committed to the Buckeyes. O?Neal committed almost two years before signing in 2005. Nine days ago, Buchanan, a punter/kicker from Westerville Central, became the first commitment for the 2008 class. But was it the start of something bigger?

COLUMBUS ? The Ohio State football team has already picked up three commitments in the class of 2008, and at least one recruiting analyst ranks the trio with the best at their positions nationally among seniors-to-be.
Dublin Coffman tackle Mike Adams, Cincinnati LaSalle receiver DeVier Posey and Westerville Central punter-kicker Ben Buchanan have all accepted scholarships from the Buckeyes.

Cont'd...

I like the fact that the article states that Buchanon "averaged 41 years per punt last season". With hang time like that, JT will once again feel confident that the most important play in football is the punt!!!

:p

That's good stuff

Let's see.....if the Bucks average 3 punts a game and play a 12 game season. 3X12X41 = 1476 years to play one season. Or four years of Buchanon's eligilbilty would = 5904 years They'll have to cryogenically preserve all the players and coaches (I imagine the refs will be androids in the near future) after each punt. I say they pull Buchanon's schollie because of the detremental effect his punting abilities would have on blue chip recruits. I mean come on, what recruit would want to play for a school that freezes it's players after each punt. Look out Walt Disney. (start sarcasm font) Then again I'm sure the OSU coaches know what they are doing, who am I to have an opinion (end sarcasm font)

I don't think that's what they mean when they say "ice the kicker".

I would appreciate it if you would take this situation seriously. 41 years is long time to wait for a punt to come back down to earth. I say the coaches keep things simple and pull his schollie and forget about the whole cryogenisis stuff. Am I the only one that is concerned about a 41 year hang time. Come on people!
