What happened to the official stats posts?

Last year (maybe 2 years ago?) we had weekly postings of stats that were compiled by one of the mods, indicating relative offensive and defensive performance compared to other teams (i.e. how do opponents' offenses score vs. OSU compared to all of their other opponents as a measure of OSU's scoring defense)

Anyone know what happened to these numbers? I loved em, but then again, I am an Econ prof.

I have not yet started the process of putting together the Differential Stats spreadsheets for this year. It is time consuming; and between my job and some volunteer work I do...

Well there's that...

Then there's the fact that the Differential Stats would be really damn ugly right now by Ohio State standards.

DBB,
Do you create those manually? I think that they could be easily automated w/ SAS or R. pm me, and I might be able to throw something together to automate the process--but I have a few questions about how you've done it in the past.

Matt.

For the original set-up I do it more or less manually, but there is very little typing involved. I could create a web-crawler to do it, but to tell you the truth I already have templates from other years in Excel that make it about the same amount of time either way.

Then updating it after that is pretty quick. Excel updates every bit as automatically as a pure web-crawler, but it's easier to set-up originally (and be sure of accurate results) because of templates I have.

I'm putting up just defensive stats because we don't have any offensive stats.
