ESPN - Budmayr proves worth in Columbus - Insider

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Close to 300 prospects attended one of the larger Nike Football Training Camps of the year Friday. While some marquee names were late scratches, it still included a handful of top prospects from Ohio and the greater Midwest competing hard at the Ohio State practice facilities.

The theme of the camp may have been the standout performances by some of the region's ESPN 150 Watch List prospects currently slipping under the national radar due to their lack of ideal positional measurables. Watch List prospects like quarterback Jon Budmayr (Woodstock, Ill./Marian Central Catholic) and tight end Tyler Eifert (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) fit their evaluations as great pure football players Friday worthy of ESPN 150 consideration.

I put up writeups on most of the recruits with threads...But some other notes on guys we aren't really after, that were impressive...

Jordan Stepp continues to impress after his great weekend last weekend...Kid ran a 4.6 forty at 285 lbs and a 4.4 shuttle...He just looks like a beast and was giving Mewhort quite the battle in one on ones...Great hands, feet, and while his frame isn't great at only 6'0, he can play ball...Plays at one of the best high schools in Indiana in Ben Davis...

Montez Robinson was another one that stood out...Kid was 6'5 230 and ran a 4.4 40...He looked good in DE drills as well...Not sure on offers, but another kid from Indy that is under the radar but about to blow up...

Courtney Avery is a 2010 kid from Ohio, CB, S, Qb are the positions being talked about, and he could be closing in on an early offer or two already...

The QB loualen (SP) from Indiana was pretty impressive as well...

Thanks man for the heads up on these guys. I have heard/read a lot of great things about Courtney Avery early on so far.

I believe the Qb you are talking about is Jordan Luallen?

Also an excellent basketball player, will most likely go that route if he gets big offers. Really athletic kid, but QB probably isn't going to be his position in college if he decides to play.
