2008 Buckeye Football Season

Why should they move us up? What have we done in the past couple weeks/years that warrents moving up? Sure we beat MSU/NW very badly and both were ranked, but neither are as good as their rankings were IMO.

Like was said until we beat a top team out of conference we don't deserve to move up the pools very fast. Best case scenerio for us is we win out and beat an SEC team in a BCS game.

Really no one is giving us any respect after losing to Penn State. We destroyed a very good top 25 Northwestern team and don't even move up a spot in the BCS. Boise State beat Utah State and moved up a spot. This is just ridiculous and I don't understand it. I hope we are able to be put against an SEC team in a bowl game and just put them to shame as to gain some of the respect back. .

Northwestern does not negate USC, Florida, and LSU.

Doesn't help that we barely beat OU, didn't score an offensive TD against Purdue, and lost another big game against PSU.

I'm rhyming and this bothers me.

Losing to USC 35-3 didn't help much either. :(

The biggest joke is Georgia moving past Ohio State after beating Kentucky 42-38.... The same Kentucky team that lost 65-3 to Florida... Makes sense right? Really won't make any difference, Florida and Alabama are almost locked into BCS bowl games and Georgia will be on the outside looking in.

Any "respect" as you call it for this years team will have to be earned in the last game of the year, and I mean the Bowl Game, not the scUM game. I love this football program with all my heart, and saying that, am not blinded enough to realize that this team has done nothing this year to earn anyone's respect. On top of that, beating Illinois and scUM won't bring any either. This team needs to make it to a Big Bowl against a higher rated opponent and beat them convincingly to gain "respect."

Talk about no respect seems to be a dead issue anymore at Ohio State.
We will only get respect from the games of Michigan in the past 7 years.
Respect was earned in the game with Miami for the N/C in 2003. It's like
what have you done for me lately. Michigan can lose to Ohio State for 4 or 5 years now and still go out and dominate against Florida and yet Ohio State
loses to Florida and LSU in back to back national championship games.

Respect will be earned when teams from the BIG TEN and Ohio State can beat teams form the SEC in the bowl games. Thats just the way it is and
will continue that way.

I agree but beating Wisky, Minnesota, and MSU all while ranked should still say something about this team! For Boise, Utah and Georgia to be ahead of us is quite annoying.

Respect will come when we are competitive outside our conference. Respect will come when our O and D lines don't get blown off the ball by average teams. When we beat a highly respected OOC opponent, we will regain some of our lost respect. Until then we really can't complain.

I'm not saying that our last two recruiting classes should be the norm, but...

I think our last two recruiting classes should be close to the norm.

We have struck gold. Our depth is soon going to be something that we really haven't experienced yet. We like to think we have depth right now, but I think reality has knocked on our door. Another solid class in '10, and I think this team will turn the corner and slay their dragons.

And to think, as "bad" as we have it, we just pulled back into 1st place in the Big Ten. Not too shabby.

We're supposed to beat the crap out of Northwestern. There's no reason to expect to jump up in the polls because of that. If anything we might have been dinged this week for the close loss to PSU where we failed to score a single TD since they turned around and lost to a mediocre at best Iowa team.

IMO we don't have any games left that will prove anything to the pollsters in the regular season, nor we stand to gain anything based on how our previous opponents play. We've got Illinois who is fighting to go to a bowl and TSUN who will finish sub .500. USC plays nobody, and the best PSU can do is beat MSU who is our best win of the season so far.

I think we are being shown a decent amount of respect being ranked where we are right now in the polls at the top of the 2 loss teams.
