The Ohio State women's track and field team completed action Saturday at the 2009 NCAA Mideast Regionals in Louisville, Ky. The Buckeyes qualified a total of five athletes in two events to the NCAA Championships in two weeks in Fayetteville, Ark. At-large berths will be announced early next week.

The Big Ten champion 4x400 relay team of freshman Latoya Sanderson, junior Ashley Caldwell, senior Ayrizanna Favours and freshman anchor leg Shaniqua McGinnis ran a season-best time and the second-fastest time in school history with their third-place finish of 3:33.96, besting their previous top time of the year of 3:35.98 set at the Jesse Owens Classic earlier this month.

"Another relay team headed to nationals," head coach Karen Dennis said afterwards. "This team really did an outstanding job. I have to give Ayrizanna a lot of credit for pulling this new group together and really teaching me to not give up on any of them as well. So I am really happy with the time today, a season's best, and we're on our way to nationals!"

Earlier in the day, sophomore Letecia Wright qualified for the NCAA championships with a PR time of 13.28 in the 100 hurdles to finish fourth overall. Her time also is the second-best in the Big Ten this season, behind only senior All-American Tiffany Ofili of Michigan.
