The WRs weren't the problem on Jan 8th...

Actually, in a great way, they were.
Ginn going out early changed the way Florida could defend us.
No Ginn to stretch the field and the Florida DBs could sit down on the other WRs like Gonzo and Robo. The field became small.
Florida was thin at DB and the offensive plan that I heard was to use Ginn to stretch the field and work on those DBs.

I have always said that Small looks like Holmes. Well, scratch that. He runs exactly like Ted Ginn Jr. although with a little less top end speed. Still, he should have a very productive career here.

With MJ, Holmes, Ginn and Gonzo all being 1st rounders, it's time for Robo, Hartline and Small to carry the torch. Lyons is also coming on strong. Could be that valuable 4th WR against teams that are thin at DB (Michigan).

Uh, no they weren't the problem. The problem was our OL playing matador with the DL. No WR on the planet could've got open with the time Troy Smith had...

Devon Lyons will be one of our leading recievers along with Dukes and Small, these three are the more talented (just need to put it all together) while Robiskie and Hartline seem to be the more polished.
Something to think about; If these three falter Sanzenbacher will be ahead of them in the rotation in a heartbeat. From what I see the coaches are wild about him and he is a go getter. He has been the talk of Toledo for a couple years now and he is very good

Ohio State preview: Receivers have firm grip on high expectations at OSU
BY JON SPENCER
NNCO

COLUMBUS -- So what if Ohio State doesn't have a clear-cut No. 1 receiver heading into the season?

The Buckeyes have been in this predicament before -- see 2006 -- and by season's end had two No. 1 draft picks catching passes.

Newly-minted first-rounders Ted Ginn Jr. and Anthony Gonzalez are among seven OSU wideouts who have been No. 1 picks in the last 20 years, a fact not lost on Brian Hartline.

"It's not just about me or Robo (Brian Robiskie) or (Albert) Dukes or any of the other receivers that are back," said Hartline, a third-year sophomore. I think it comes down to the idea that we have a tradition here. I can't remember the last time we had a lack of talent at receiver.
"Following what those guys before us have done, I think we'll be well-prepared, and hopefully, I'll be one of the big-name guys everybody talks about."
