Troy Smith barely had returned from the NFL Scouting Combine when an ESPN analyst called the Ohio State quarterback one of the biggest busts in Indianapolis.
The Heisman Trophy winner was criticized for limiting his workout to throwing and for uttering the dreaded words ``banquet circuit.'' A Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article then said Smith had scored a below-average 15 on his first try at the Wonderlic Test, a psychological exam.

At Ohio State, those not invited to the combine, such as backup quarterback Justin Zwick of Massillon, guard T.J. Downing of GlenOak, receiver Roy Hall of Brush and cornerback Antonio Smith of Columbus, can ensure they'll be in an NFL camp this summer with impressive performances. Tailback Antonio Pittman of Buchtel and receiver Anthony Gonzalez of St. Ignatius could reinforce their strong workouts in Indianapolis, where Pittman tied for fastest in his group with a 4.40 in the 40-yard dash, and Gonzalez ran a 4.44.
Flanker/kick returner Ted Ginn Jr., who suffered a midfoot sprain in the BCS title game ``is not going to do anything,'' his father, Ted Ginn Sr., said Wednesday night. The elder Ginn did not know when his son would be able to work out.
