Brandon Saine won O+D Player of the Year

Thanks...

Overall some pretty poor coverage of the event from Rivals so far. I am sure there will be more up tonite, but really the only thing they had was a thread on their premium board full of a Gator vs GameCock pissing match with some updates in between. I mean there were verbals from some players and they are no where to be found on the recruiting page at Rivals. Also no game article. I did see where they said they will put video up on the site. I know this is their first time with a all star game like this, but Scout takes the cake in this department at this point in time.

So the only things I have gathered so far are Saine had a decent nite with a 20+ yd carry and an 8 yd td run, and Scott his a hitter and had an INT. Anyone have anything else form the game.

Also if anyone was wondering Cam Newton committed to the Gators was the MVP.

Generally the defenses shine in the All-American games.

You think so? I would say the complete opposite is the case. Defenses are typically only allowed to run base man and cover 2 defenses, aren't allowed to blitz and generally are handcuffed the entire week. If the defenses dominate it is usually because of two things: 1) top-tier DL tend to be a touch further along in their development than top-tier OL and 2) offensive cohesion usually takes a bit longer to develop than it does for a defensive unit playing strictly responsibility football. I would say the defenses usually shine in the trenches in these all-star games, but overall the offenses are put in a position to dominate just because of the rules.
