That's true. I remember watching LeBron in this game a few years ago and thinking that he was quite a ballhog himself that night.
That is funny because all I can remember from that game was King James running the show by dishing to everyone and letting his points come to him, something Mayo has to learn.
And using Lawson and Jr. as examples isn't really adequate imo. I mean those guys will be in the pros and there aren't many elite guards who can stay in front of them. I agree about Calathes though,it's hard to judge from one game, but he just doesn't look like a PG at the elite D1 level. Forget about the Lawsons, that kid will have trouble staying in front of guys like Jamar Butler.
After watching this past season and the game last night, you really appreciate how good last years PG class was. There are some great pure points like Rose,Lucas and Flynn but this class doesn't compare. I'm not sure if we even know Calathes' name if he was in last years class. Nick has good vision, but the best thing he has going for him is his shot. Without that I think he would be another Greg Paulus,a guy who was supposed to be the ish coming out of HS but is struggling on the next level.(specifically with defense). From that game he looked like Jon Scheyer with better passing ability.
Like eveyone else,I was dissapointed with the minimal minutes that Kosta got,but he did well in the first half. I love how comfortable he is with the ball, can't wait to see some high post plays with him. After 07' ya gotta think the offense will be run through Koufos by getting a touch every time down and letting him make decisions and passes like g-town uses Hibbert.
About the game itself, some players stood out but overall I wasn't that impressed. IMO,none of these games since the Lebron classic have quite lived up to the hype.
