2007 Army All-American Bowl

But on a serious note...oh well IF we get the big 4(or 5 with Sanders which I like) next year. Plus we need to absolutely dominate DT recruiting next year.

This is so true......and with the limited number of ships available next year JT might be better off calling this a class and banking the rest for 2008.

There aren't going to be too many seniors on the field next year thanks to the terrible 2003 class. Who are the scholarship seniors next year? Let's see....Kirk Barton, Curtis Terry, Larry Grant, Curt Lukens, Gonzo (maybe), Ginn (yeah right). I probably missed a guy or two but that's all I missed I'm sure. Point is there aren't very many guys coming to an end of eligibiliy after next season.

We'll probably have ships come available with Jenkins, Boone, Laurenitis, and Gholston all possibilities to leave as juniors next season, but if the 2008 prospects are so great then I think it'd be nice to score with a class of 20 plus but if we fill the 2007 class up with 20 then that ain't gonna happen.

Oh and another thing. I've been following this site since 2003 or so and it seems that at about this time every year, when things inevitably seem to not go according to plan with buckeye recruiting, we have posters saying wait until next year because next years class is awesome or some crap. I guess next years class always looks good when the current class being dealt with starts to seem like a worn out broken record. I'm sure people get sick and tired of talking and analyzing and agonizing over the same handful of high school players over and over and then after all that we have to watch them turn and walk away to some other school.

Oh well what can we do but start over again with a new crop that is bound to contain some more players that will turn and take that same walk to some other school when the calender flips around again. We'll always miss out on guys. Some for the better and some for worse.

One thing I would really like to see though is a crop of Ohio kids so deep that the Buckeyes don't have to rely on kids from out of state to fill up a class. If we have to depend year in and year out on a kid from Michigan and a kid from New Jersey or a kid from some other state not Ohio to make a recruiting class successful then we are probably going to get left at the alter 8 or 9 years out of 10.

A 3 star Ohio kid that has grown up Buckeye is alot more desirable than a 4 or 5 star out of state primadonna. Also, sometimes these out of state kids are, at the 11th hour, just going to choose to stay closer to home and I can't blame them for that.

In closing, if we are gonna take 5 o-linemen and a couple DT's next year then we need to bank some scollies this year. If we don't we'll end up a 2008 recruiting class about 50% of which will be guys of the "power" catagory. After these last two classes, that might not be such a bad idea but what happens when there's this WR/CB/S that we really want but can't take because we're backed into a corner having to fill the class up with "Bigs" because we only brought in an average of 2 OL's per year for 3 straight years.

Now in closing for real this time, I'd like to mention that in less than 28 hours our Buckeyes will be crowned the 2006 National Champions. Who cares about Ben Martin, Joseph Barksdale and Anthony Davis in a time like this. Those 3 players will probably play their entire college careers and never win a National Championship. Davis for sure and Martin probably pretty close to for sure. Winners win. The Buckeyes are winners and those three didn't want to hop onboard and dare to be great. Best of luck to all three of those young men as baffling as their choices might be to those of us here!

Go Buckeyes!!!!!!

Interesting is that Jamiihr Williams apparently is from Glenville, not Lima. Anticipating a transfer?

Jamiihr is indeed transferring to Glenville...

Glad to see Jamal Womble do so well down there... It was said that he was seen chatting with Adams, Brewster, and Shugarts...

Lots of quality prospects on that list with lots of early interest in the Buckeyes... Let's hope we can put a bunch of them away for next year...

I agree on Womble, he might be the highly rated rb recruit we could bring in with the Block O next year.

I keep thinking that if you could average Whitner and Rowell's weights you would come up with the prototypical DT. Rowell does look a bit more solid in these combine pics though.

Any info on Travis Freeman? Not a lot of press considering he came up through the Glenville yute program.
