stories of asw are crazy. brawls at the airport after the game. shootings on the strip. 400andsome arrests. odd how they quickly deemed it a success.

How much of this had to do with the NBA or just the mass amount of people that were there?

Either way from what I have heard and read Las Vegas doesnt have many cops, besides the security guys that are located in the casinos...

Great Column on ASW (ESPN P2 SG)

For what its worth, a good buddy of mine who went to the All Star Game and would be more inclined to defend the "Hip-Hop Woodstock" crowd than promote stereotypical images says that what has been described by Simmons and others (violence, weed smoke, ridiculous lines for cabs and parties, outrageous bottle costs, etc.) is "95% true."

He also needed two extra days to recover and return to work.

For what it's worth.

i have no idea, i didnt go.
At least 362 people ended up in handcuffs over the All-Star weekend. The exact total is expected from police Tuesday. Metro says the arrests ranged from disorderly conduct, to burglary, to gun violence.
To put this weekend in perspective, on this past New Year's Eve, Metro arrested 181 people. The increase could be due to more visitors in town last weekend.
Some workers near the Strip believe the numbers are deceiving. They say the number of arrests does not come close to describing how much crime was actually going on.
