2007 All American Football Teams

ORD_Buckeye

Wrong glass, Sir.
Thought I'd start a thread to track the upcoming AA teams as they're announced. Couldn't find another one, but if there is...merge away.

2007 AFCA All American Team announced. Laurinitis and Barton make first team. The weak, slow Big Ten leads all conferences with 5 selections. The SEC could only manage two (same as the WAC), but that's undoubtedly because their players are so banged up from the intense competition.

Barton is a pleasant surprise but no Malcolm Jenkins? Just wow. :shake:

Yeah I was pretty shocked about that one. I also thought that Connor>Adibi, but we couldn't possibly have 6 slow, sluggish, Big 10 players including all of the linebackers...God this conference sucks

The defensive backs named to this year?s AFCA Coaches? All-America Team are Dwight Lowery of San Jose State, Aqib Talib of Kansas, Brandon Flowers of Virginia Tech and Mike Jenkins of South Florida.

Saw Talib, meh... But then Chase Daniel has made a lot of guys look bad.

Saw Flowers, good player

Saw Jenkins (USF), legit AA

Saw Lowery get punked by Brennan, ok a lot of guys can say that

Can't really say these are bad choices. I have to wonder if a couple of missed tackles haven't been blown entirely out of proportion on Malcolm's resume. I'm sure the NFL scouts just shake their heads when they see these lists.

Speaking of which, Malcolm quite obviously must come back for another year to correct this injustice. *please*

I can see an arguement for Cason over Jenkins, and Talib over Jenkins, especially because no one threw at him so he doesn't have the greatest stat line. I agree though, that Jenkins is much better than Flowers and Mike Jenkins.

I like Talib but I can't get that image of KSU's Jordy Nelson absolutely smoking him for a td. I can't recall MJ ever getting burned like that.

And Flowers was punked in that LSU game. I know you can't judge a player off one game but in his biggest game and in primetime, he didn't play well at all.

Stewart is also unexpected.
