2006 Scout Top 100 (Updated 1/23/06)

...and the slow, painful descent into mediocrity continues. scUM has always been able to pride themselves on atleast holding on to big recruits, now they are losing them to the Les Miles' of the world. Well, I guess years of underachieving will end up biting you in the ass. :slappy: Hope LLLLoyd enjoyed San Antonio, because he should probably get used to it.

sorry if I've hijacked this thread, but its for a good cause... more great stuff from GBW :slappy:

michigan is Charlie Brown with respect to recruiting CB's
how many times are we going to have the ball pulled away at the last minute?

see if you can follow me here.
since 2002 we have recruited exactly 5 corners. 5. what the fu#$!? and harrison moved over to safety. trent then moved over to corner.

1. Harrison
2. Sears
3. Richards
4. Stewart
5. Trent
6. Hall

hall leaves after next year. take a long hard look at what that leaves us with. that leaves us with 1. through 5. IF harrison moves back to corner.
THAT IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.
how many have we whiffed on? Victor Harris, Justin King, Eugene, i'm not gonna bother listing safeties.
Richards and Sears have never played a down. trent may be okay at best. and i wouldn't trust stewart to lockdown a WR if he had the assistance of two safeties.

about the only thing we can hope for is that perhaps Steve Brown converts to corner. i can see this happening.

as for eugene...while i respect his motives to remain close to his son....I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RESPECT THE TIMING. give your fu#$ing head a shake. you left us out on a fu#$ing limb.

Re: Good luck to Jai Eugene! <HR>I personally wish him no luck. If he committed to LSU at the Army AA game, that would be one thing. But to tell Michigan you are going to sign with them, and make Michigan believe they don't have to recruit another CB this year is classless. If he was so unsure, he could have waited and allowed Michigan to continue recruiting cornerbacks...

Yeah, how selfish of him to have a change of heart and want to be around home to better support his family...Michigan's recruiting needs clearly should've trumped any personal needs of him or his family. <!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :rolleyes -->

Well hopefully the coloring book was only 1 solid color b/c you know they don't thier colors up there.

I also find it funny that they cant recruit corners. I think it might be b/c we look all the goods from Ohio up and Llllllyod can't find them anywhere else.

Many michigan fans are already getting excited. No need for them to pick up any studs for their secondary, even tho they'll surely move this stud safety to some other position (OLB).

On a sidenote, I found it hilarious that Mackenzie Matthews was told he'd be moved to OLB at Michigan. Clearly they have learned nothing from their mistakes with Woodley and Woods.

I'm not too concerned with anybody michigan gets on defense. Until they change a whole bunch of coaches, their defensive talent is not going to develop. A lot of them seem to regress as the years go by (Jackson, Watson, Woods, Burgess, Woodley, etc.)

There's a reason they've had exactly ONE first round pick on defense since Woodson left. THREE since 1986 and ZERO linebackers or defensive linemen.

To be fair to the scUMers, from what I saw in the AA game Eugene was a bit, shall we say, overvalued.

Did anyone else see the play when he ran 5 yards past the guy who caught the ball with his arms still up in the air? Again from the limited plays I saw he wasn't real comfortable in space with the ball in the air. Which of course is exactly why I thought it was so perfect he was going to scUM. Another 4 years of a "big name" DB who couldn't cover my Parkinsons ridden 75 year old grandmother.
