  • I was just looking over the recruiting class of 2006 and started thinking who has played so far this year and who will reshirt. I think my list below is fairly accurate...any errors, please let me know:

    Haven't played - likely redshirts:
    Browning
    Chekwa
    Dublin
    Gant
    Gibson
    Henton
    Johnson
    Miller
    Moeller
    Olson
    Schwartz
    Smith, C.

    May have played:
    Larimore

    Definitely have played:
    Ballard
    Coleman
    Grant
    Homan
    Larimore
    Rose
    Small
    Wells, C.

I think Larimore's name only popped up in the participation report where he was mixed up with Downing. I don't recall him playing, but that's not an indication of anything.

I believe Josh Kerr is considered a true freshman, and he'll redshirt.

Larimore shows up on the participation report in all 4 games.

EDIT - brain fart - he only showed up in the list for the NIU game, which may have been a mistake, as previously mentioned.

Slightly off-topic, but still mostly on-topic:

What does a team have to do to red-shirt a player? I know that they can't play the player at all (medical red-shirt is a different story). But do they have to fill out any paperwork for the NCAA or Big Ten? If the team lists the guy as a "red-shirt freshman" next year, will there be anyone to go through film of each game, looking for the player?
