Everybody is somebody else's weirdo.
Who do you pick? Do you think Barbaro can do it again?

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD style="PADDING-TOP: 10px" vAlign=top><!-- begin leftcol --><!-- template inline -->BALTIMORE -- Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro tops a nine-horse field for Saturday's Preakness, the smallest for the second leg of the Triple Crown since 2000.
Nine 3-year-olds were entered Wednesday, with post position selections and morning-lines odds to be determined later in the day.
Unbeaten Barbaro, the winner of six straight races, will likely be the prohibitive favorite when he goes against Derby rivals Brother Derek (dead heat for fourth) and Sweetnorthernsaint (seventh) and six new shooters.
The others entered for the 1 3/16th-mile Preakness at Pimlico were Withers winner Bernardini, Gotham winner Like Now, Diabolical, Hemingway's Key, Greeley's Legacy and Platinum Couple.
If all nine start, it would be the smallest field since Red Bullet upset Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus in an eight-horse field. Fusaichi Pegasus finished second as the 3-10 favorite.
With a small field, post positions aren't a major concern like they were in the Derby, when Brother Derek left from a far outside post -- No. 18 -- and was forced to run wide most of the race.
Afleet Alex won the Preakness in a full field of 14 3-year-olds last year. Derby winner Giacomo was third.

I think he should win easily! He is a nice strided colt, just hold him back a teeny bit then go for broke! he seems to handle easily.
The events before the race is what gets these horses worked up & then to the paddock & onto the track they spend so much nervous energy, half of them are so lathered up in sweat by then from nerves alone! But Barbaro is pretty cool when it cmes to that in my eyes!
Yes,he's wound up but notoout of control like trying to eat the pony horse or the poor guy riding the pony horse! In the Derby there were more than 2 pony horses with shoulder guards on so the colt could not take a chunk out of them as they were being warmed up.

GO BARBARO GO!!!!

For those who don't already know. Barbaro came in last.

He was pulled back by the jockey at the start because of a hind leg injury. It looks to be career ending. Most likely broken ankle.

Before the race even started, when they put Barbaro in his gate, a noise was made and his busted out of the gate.

They're saying that probably didn't cause the injury, but if he suffered damage to his front legs on the gate, he could of tried to composate and put the weight on the back legs.

It is indeed a fracture above the ankle! It would be better had it been the ankle. He is being packed up as we speak to be shipped to New Bolton Center @ Penn State! Just pray for the horse to pull through this to have at least a successful breeding career!
This happened to a filly in 1975 in a match race against the sexes!
She fractured her front sesamoid bone to bits! They operated on her,but horses coming out of anesthesia tend to fight it & she did totally destroying her leg & had to be put to sleep! I was 13 & devastated when this happened!
My horse had a rough time coming out of anesthesia at Ohio State from a leg fracture,it was not pretty but he made it.
