I found this information on a major web site today. Is it just me or this is a fricking joke? I mean c'mon, SCUM as #5?? This sort of thing irritates the heck out of me :)

Call this extremely unofficial, but next year’s preseason top five, assuming there’s not a mass exodus of players from these teams to the NFL, has to include Texas (if Vinny returns), USC, Auburn, Miami and Michigan. Also deserving of the top five, but maybe just outside, will be LSU, Virginia Tech (who’ll certainly be top five if the O line can fill in the holes), Alabama, if it can replace Brodie Croyle, Florida, if its quarterback situation is figured out, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Ohio State. Don’t hold me to this when it changes wildly when we do it for real after the bowls, but the preseason 2006 top ten will likely be something close to: 1. Texas. 2. USC (even with a ton of players turning pro), 3. Auburn, 4. Miami, 5. Michigan, 6. Virginia Tech, 7. Notre Dame, 8. Ohio State, 9. Oklahoma, 10. Florida.

5. Notre Dame
6. Notre Dame
7. USC
8. Notre Dame

***Notre Dame and USC were so good that they had to divide them up into multiple teams.***

I think there should be no polls until three or four weeks into the season. Too bad magazines and newspapers feel the need to rank the teams to sell their rags. I guess TV stations like them also to sell early season games like OSU v Texas.

I wish I could get to my blog about Michigan. The fuckers win 1 Championship ever half century and we have to listen to this top 5 shit every year....

On the other hand, any one doing 2006 ratings before 2005 is complete needs a second job doing ANYTHING.

They will be ranked high in the preseason every year, bank on it. I love it. It makes that annual September loss and subsequent crying and moaning fom their fans that much more enjoyable.
